With Linfield in the top and leading with a minimum difference by just a point over Ballymena United and two over Glenavon, after these squads winning their respective outings, the race is among the headlines in this edition of the NIFL.
Interesting will become this edition of the NIFL with four months left in the calendar, believe me if these three squads and if we get a fourth one in the defending champions, believe me this will be one amazing contest.
Let us start with a Friday night match between Newry City and the visiting Ballymena United in the Showgrounds at Newry City with the AFC hosting the Sky Blues, with the visitors coming ahead.
Still the match belonged in its entirety to the visitors with goals from Adam Lecky in the 36’ minute and later Andrew McGrory in the 44’ minute, in the second half the locals via Dale Montgomery in the 68’ sealed the deal.

However, the visiting Sky Blues were not an easy foe with a comeback rally with a double from Michael McCrudden in the 54’ via a penal and 88’ to see their rally short.

In Stangmore Park, the local Swifts won by the minimum difference over the Glens of Glentoran with a lone goal from Seanan Clucas in the 58’ minute.
As the local Swifts put on the brakes on all of Glentoran strikers with a defensive gem to net a valuable shutdown and three points in their quest of getting away from the infamous relegation.

For Coleraine Darren McAuley in the 59’ minute equal the score but a foul that lead to a penal became the visitors doom.

Back in Windsor Park the Linfield Blues got a valuable win to be two weeks atop the Danske Banke Premiership table with a point lead and thanks to a treble from Andrew Waterworth in the 36’, 60’ and 81’.
