2014 CONCACHAMPIONS- A Stunned Galaxy Sudden Elimination

It felt like a bucket of cold water suddenly bathed the lads of the Los Angeles Galaxy and its Manager Bruce Arena, after being eliminated from this prestigious North American tourney.
As a stunned Galaxy Manager Bruce Arena, seeing how his chaps couldn’t decipher the intelligent game as well the home field advantage of a much superior rival.
it looks like it’s time to get back to the drawing board as well look at the deficiency of this Angelino squad err in the field as well a flawless defensive side giving up four goals.
Playing the former Mexican League Champions, this border team of Tijuana Xolos at Caliente Stadium, it was to revive what many saw as a nascent Border rivalry between these two squads.
The last laugh was for the locals that really played with their hearts out and passion for an overall score of 4-3.
This really puts the hopes for two Major league squads in the San Jose Quakes and the reigning champion’s Sporting Kansas City to earn a place in this event semifinal.
After all MLS squads are really putting on a valiant fight against tough Central American squads as those from Honduras, Salvador and Costa Rica- still playing the Mexican ones it’s when things get a little complicated.
Three American squads and three Mexican were in this tourney quarters, by the Tijuana Xolos advancing to their first Semifinal in their history, it leave two American squads to do the ultimate feat in advancing to this important competition.
Concachampions is a tournament where all the squads from North America, Caribbean and Central America compete for a position in the World Cup of teams- being Mexican squad’s as the dominant ones.
Leaving Real Salt Lake as the only American squad to make it into the finals in 2011 and losing to then powerhouse Monterrey Rayados, who won three back to back editions of this competition.
Still Major League Soccer is showing a far superior level never seen in its squads as well its competiveness growth to a maximum, showing in several of its squads.
Nothing is lost as team Tijuana had in its initial eleven three players product from Major League Soccer as well currently a part of TEAM USA, making our league a hub to export players abroad.
Unfortunately today the LA squad didn’t hold for its lead as well didn’t show any ambition in its initial eleven, except for its Irishman striker Robbie Keane who scored a couple and still his squad fell short of one goal.
As we see, Mexican squads are still the dominant ones over our football, although US national team has a certain hegemony over el Tri, still in the club level we need to move up and become a force not to be reckon with, go San Jose and SKC!
