This upcoming 2014 will be a year of many challenges for Major League Soccer, entering in its 21st edition since its inception, showing off a total of nineteen squads.
With a league that has shown and all around improvement in its quality of play comparable now to European and Latin American leagues.
By surpassing in many leagues from south of the border, such as the Mexican league in a more dynamic and exciting level of play as well its other counterparts in CONCACAF.
Major League Soccer is becoming a magnet for many players from Centro America and the Caribbean for its importance as well being a league that European squads are scouting lately.
It’s the reason that those players are considering our American league as a platform to make the big jump into their top leagues; also our own league has been exporting more players to other leagues than the Mexican league.
That’s something to celebrate for us Americans, as well make us proud of our own league sudden growth and stardom of competing with the top leagues in the world.
All of a sudden our league is becoming a center of attention to players of great caliber and reputation in the European theaters, trying to get a chance to play in our league, due to its grand progress.
So far the different squads in both conferences are ready and poised to give an all-around performance as well a spectacle worthy for its followers and this league out of this world success since its initiation.
Competitive, indeed! This edition of Major League Soccer will show the fruits of its development; after all of these squads will try their best in the field to win the always coveted Supporters Shield and MLS Cup!
It’s why current Commissioner Don Garber since taking over the league helm, his goals has always been success as well overall acceptance by a once skeptic American sports fan.
Something we can credit this man vision as well perseverance for not giving up after seeing the league first expansion program going sour after both of Florida squads, withdrew from league play.
At the end MLS is becoming a household name for adults to many kids in the same level of Major League Baseball, which proves the progress and one of a kind planning done by the league top man- seeing the fruits of its success.
Saturday march 8, 2014 will see a new start and edition of this league that many of us will really see as one of the most competitive and remarkable in many seasons to come.
