Pellegrini’s Boys Going for More than Shields...

It looks like the lads from the other side of Merseyside, are really looking to silence a lot of its critics as well prove something.
Indeed, this squad considered by many as the other one from Manchester, being always under the shadow of its archrival and nemesis Manchester United that always gets the attention!
Still this squad it’s been in the radar of many football critics and detractors of this club, as a foolish spender of spoiled footballers that never accomplish anything.
Oh yes, only one Barclays Premiership Cup as well a failed FA loss in last campaign- it’s been the toll in a squad that its ownership has really invested millions for fiascos and failures.
After giving the boot to an unadaptable Roberto Mancini, Etihad think tanks really focused in getting a man that could rally the troops, very well bring not only shields to its halls but satisfaction’s.
Tell that to Manuel Pellegrini’s aims at the start of this campaign, the always controversial losses, draws and adaptation to a new Managers scheme- that took on the Citizens players by surprise.
With a campaign in full force and before the end of the league midway, the Etihad chaps really started a competed race to the league top alongside rivals in the Everton Toffees, Chelsea Blues and Mersey foes Liverpool Reds.
Now as the Sky Blues Andean skipper is showing the world of Premiership and Europe, that this club is really poised and determined in winning it all and demonstrate its class and might as a team.
For now the Citizens faithful embraced the glory of winning a cup that will adorn Etihad Halls in the Capitol One Cup, formerly known as Carling- very well is a shield with limited importance- a trophy is a trophy.
Well-earned award that’s for sure after defeating a resilient and combatant Gus Poyet’s Sunderland squad looking for redemption as well a shoot of optimism going into today’s match- after all Poyet’s club is fighting for their permanency in Premiership.
A reaction well worth celebrating for Etihad and its faithful followers- still this campaign is now seen as the year of the foursome, as this club is in the hunt of four shields.
At the end, we can say one down and three to go, but the league is not over yet and with matches pending in Champions league were things don’t look promising, Man- City and its Manager have to focus in the upcoming matches and challenges.
Very well a FA Cup continuance along of two matches pending in Premiership, those being the sole  difference in the end of a much competed EPL- for now is back to business for Pellegrini’s chaps and continue their cup collection if possible.
