By defeating in the Belfast
Derby a troubled Linfield squad, known for its dominance in this league history
- the Reds really put on a show of force to overwhelm this squad and the others
that make up this grand league.
Determination as well
ambition made up this squad managed brightly by Tommy Breslin, who is credited
in building a force not to reckon with in his beloved Reds playing in every match
with a lot of heart.
Finishing with six
points ahead of tier cross city rival’s Linfield, the reds finished up with 85 points overall and a record
of 26 wins, 7 draw’s and 5 losses, a record which paved their way to another successful
campaign.
Closing a successful run
in matches over their arch-rivals Linfield blues that this win of a convincing
3-1 over the so called top tier club in NIPL, the Reds started their successful
run with victories over Glenavon by a
5-0, 2-0 over Portadown and today’s 3-2 against the Crusader’s.
That in this match,
being the last of tie league campaign and close its operations until next
2014-15, Cliftonville never stopped fighting to demonstrate why they were to be
crowned this edition champions.
Having won the league
and the top scorer title going to its striker Joe Gormley, the Reds couldn’t
ask for a better campaign as well a way to celebrate it with style and all
around pride, by giving its followers another one of a kind performance’s in
every match played.
At the end the
Cliftonville Bhoys really put on a show in the final stretch of the league and
brought glory to its halls the always coveted Gibson Cup that gives them bragging
rights as champions in this edition of the Danske Bank Premier League.
Well done lads and
congratulation for this feat obtained as well it’s a way to complete the whole task
and goals set by this club top brass, this deal is seal and know think of how
will it be defended this crown, until next NIPL Campaign.
