The Klopp era is
under way with a strong statement from his hardened Liverpool Reds and so far
climbing all the way to fourth place with a raucous win over Antonio Conte
Chelsea Boys at Stamford Bridge.
After all the German
Boss is considered one genius and all around strategist that is looking to turn
around this troubled club and return it to its old Premiership glories.
Coming to this parts
of London Town and play one of its most difficult of squads, the Pensioners
under a new era with Conte at its helm, many of its followers are looking forward
to many amazing campaigns.
Very well the return
of its old glories in Europe as well in league play, so far since the start of
this campaign, the Blues were somehow undefeated coming to this match scheduled
on a Friday night and to mark the return of regular league after the
international break.
As last week match
for Conte’s Blues marked a total upset, not because they were defeated but the
way they almost lost to a modest Swansea and rescued a point at the end, when
it supposedly should been an easy win.
As for Jürgen Kloop
his undefeated streak against London squads such Arsenal, Tottenham and now
Chelsea- this shows off a new Liverpool squad under its German Manager as well
one that is displaying one remarkable football since he took over at Anfield.
With every match, the
Liverpool Boss is molding his initial eleven, especially in one of its most vulnerable
of areas, the defense, still his backfield with a renewed Dejan Louvren, Joel
Matip, Nathaniel Clyne and James Milner.
Despite the German
need for a couple more defenders in the transfers market, still his moves
lately in the Reds backfield has given him the edge to stop his foes cold,
still work has to do with some minor details to fix this troubled area of his lineup.
Coming to play in these
parts of London Town and its colossus of the Bridge, Liverpool came poised and
determined to offload their arsenal to its hosts, very well a win will be considered
an important one alongside of being so far a total dominant of London base
clubs.
With a formation put
on the field by Klopp sporting a 4-3-3 with three strikers in Sadio Mane and
Phillip Couthino on the sides and Daniel Sturridge playing on the center, the
Reds looked very much as an ambitious club and they showed it in the first half.
The attack of the Liverpool
Boys was coming hard on the Blues backfield; something that has Boss Antonio Conte
is on the dire need of immediate solutions to prevent any further meltdowns,
despite aligning David Luiz.
So far the first half
showed a much superior and ambitious Liverpool squad netting a couple of goals
that became enough for the Merseyside Boys to seal the win as well move up the general
table to fourth place just separated by a goal difference by their Chelsea
foes.
With the first goal courtesy
of Dejan Lovren in the 17th with a pass from Coutinho for the 1-0,
no later than nineteen minutes came the go ahead goal in Jordan Henderson with
a 36thyard shoot elevated with a nice volley that Courtois could not
even get to it.
With the first half
coming to an end and the Liverpool Reds went with a 2-0 lead.
This match was far
from over, as the Merseyside Boys knew of the fury coming to them in the second
half from an energized and pumped up Chelsea eleven given a lecture by their
manager Conte in the dressing rooms looking to start something.
For the Liverpool
Reds, their total knowledge of the storm coming was very evident in the change
of their game and moving more in a defensive mode to defend whenever the Blues attacking
core threw at them. As many know the weakness the Reds defense has, still their
vulnerability exposed when a beaten James Milner allowed Diego Costa to score
the lone goal for the losing cause.
This was one temper
tantrum thrown by Jürgen Kloop, still at the end he was all smiles and hugs
with his Boys after the feat they just performed and so far his plans toward
the league top are moving as expected.
After the Chelsea
goal, the Liverpool squad just became one overzealous playing machine and by
not allowing the Blues any more liberties to make a stand and at least net the
draw, for the German at the end it was all smiles and joy.
