Early Christmas for Liverpool with a win and extend their lead to four points

Wolves 0, Liverpool 2
Molineaux Stadium, Wolverhampton

This is one serious business for Jürgen Klopp and his Reds, with another win and on the road against one of the most surprising and hottest squads in this edition of Premiership.

However for the Reds once again in their defensive game coming up strong in the course of the evening and denying all sorts of clear opportunities to the locals after a series of turnovers.

Still the initiative taken by the Liverpool side was evident with a well put on play by Fabinho in sea of Wanderer defenders with a nice shoot taken by Mohamed Salah shaking off his defender in Conor Coady for the game first goal.

As Salah with a  very unorthodox left leg kick put on the score ahead for the visitors in the 18’ minute and putting uplifting the confidence and taking off the pressure these had coming to this match.

Do not put off the Wolves defensive game too, as these really held the pressure and intentions the Liverpool crew came up in the course of the game with several tries by Mohammed Salah but the opportune arrivals of Rui Patricio prevented the worst.

In spite of a rainy night in the Black Country and facing a squad with momentum after a staging a three game winning streak, and facing a squad that in the course of the campaign has yet to lose a match.

In the case of these battling Wolves playing like a hardened squad and not of one just recently promoted, this affair made it interesting in this Friday night Premiership match that in the end saw the likes of the Reds raise to the occasion.

After that meltdown of 2013, for sure for manager Klopp he is aware of any simple detail not taken lightly after all this an encore of that campaign were they almost caressed all the league glories and these spoiling Citizens took the league.

With several of his most important players sidelined, the German has given his second string substitutes taking over some of his starters a sense of their desires of wining over their manager confidence and trust in the end.

The question arises if the Reds momentum and good football will keep coming in the course of the second half when it comes interesting with some squads looking forward to catapult the league leader if these are within reach.

Once again, I reiterate and complement the Reds defensive game as the playmaker in the Reds successful campaign so far with a match on Boxing Day against Newcastle United at Anfield.

In the end these Liverpool side does not give up and in the second half is when these delivered the final blow and KO to their hosts with a nice goal from Virgil Van  Dijk in the 68’ by a volley sent by Mohamed Salah who got the assist.

A valuable if not important win that puts the Red four points clear in the top but the Citizens playing on Saturday and hosting a not so strong Crystal Palace on Saturday, still a win for these Sky Blues will see Liverpool in the top.
