Xherdan Shaqiri on the double for first place Liverpool

Liverpool 3, Manchester United 1
Anfield Stadium, Liverpool

For Liverpool manager Jürgen Kloop so far the man has all the right moves with his super sub Xherdan Shaqiri coming off the bench and seal a valuable win that keeps the Merseyside squad atop the overall league table.

With a one of a kind, tiebreaking goal that delivered a valuable win and moving back to the league top with a point, lead over defending champions Manchester City who won in their weekend compromise.

In another edition of the North- West Derby or as the Bloody Red rivalry, the Red Devils were looking forward to continue their positive streak over the Reds at Anfield but not everything went according to Mourinho’s way.

So far, in the case of these amazing Reds these displaying a superb campaign and displaying an immaculate game contrary to the visiting Manchester United Boys troublesome campaign and with no relief in sight.

Coming to this match the Liverpool side was missing several of its notable players sidelined with injuries and for this match considered important for Klopp and company coming to this match with a patched up squad.

However, in the end all of these responded firmly to the German call and with amazing result that left the visiting Manu manager impressed of how intense and consistent the Reds were all afternoon long fighting for the win.

In spite of both managers putting on the field a similar 4-4-1-1 formations in the end the best tactics and strategies used by the German were the difference makers and hence the result that in Premiership circles for sure will be talk about for some time.

As the Reds put on a whooping record of tries towards the posts defended heroically by the Red Devils Goalkeeper David De Gea, in spite of his efforts in the end he surrendered to the push put on by a determined and motivated Liverpool substitute.

For the Liverpool side going ahead in the 24’ minute when a combination of Fabinho to a well-placed Sadio Mane the man from Senegal score was defined with a nice control of with his chest and push the ball for the first score.

In the case of the Red Devils these taking advantage of a rebound or err from Liverpool Brazilian keeper Allison, on the rebound these took advantage of the loose ball for Jesse Lingard in the 33’ to tie this match up for discontent of the Kop.

As the tale of the tape, these Liverpool lads were on the ball and determined to put this one away with a screaming number of 36 attempted shoots at goal and three scored versus the visitors with a mere six in total.

This match was to be all Liverpool in the end when manager Kloop made his first move of the evening when he substituted Xherdan Shaqiri for Naby Keita in the 70’ minute, a move considered vital for the Reds.

As the pressure mounted on Manu side and its keeper De Gea, when the Swiss on a rebound push the ball for his first of two goals in the evening recorded in the 73’ and seven minutes alter his persistence paid off in the 80’ with the go-ahead goal.

For Manu this match exposes the problems this squad is deep into and with no solution in sight for Mou as maybe his days in the helm of the Trafford squad maybe numbered as positive results are not in and the locker room dissention increases.
