The NIFL recap tops a perfect run for the Sky Blues


The Danske Bank Premiership is seeing a heated competition to the top all covered in Blue, with the leaders the Sky Blues of Ballymena United winning and the blues of Linfield doing the same, man if we are for a contest!

With a Belfast Derby going in favor of the Blues over the defending and slumping champions Crusaders, the Reds continue their positive streak in Solitude along of a trouble Ards destined for the abyss. 

Eight and counting for these hardened contenders in the Cliftonville Reds playing a one of a kind football at home where these have netted perfection and seeking a move to the top spots. 

For Reds Rory Donnelly again on the double in the 5’ and 78’, along with his teammates Stephen Garrett 59’ and Conor McDonald 83’, for the Lurgan Blues Conor McCloskey 32’ and Andrew Mitchell 47’.

Cliftonville 4, Glenavon 2

The Showgrounds the home of the Bannsiders got a valuable win over struggling and troubled Ards not seeing daylight after a lone score from Jamie McGonigle in the 53’ was the difference maker in the end.

In Stangmore Park the local Swifts of Dungannon settle for the draw and the share of spoils against Newry City and with the locals score from Paul McElroy 87’ and the visitors Declan Carville 78’.

With an all-around goal, fest in Morneview Park between the locals Glens and visiting Stute, todays the attendees treat to six goals scored between these two squads in what seemed a tug of war. 

For the local Glens with Stephen Murray 6’, Andrew Mitchell 36’and Conor McCloskey 87’ putting their scores for the visiting Institute Joe McCready 8’, Mark Scoltok 24’and Michael McCrudden 55’.

It happened in Windsor with the locals Linfield Blues cruising to a victory in the Belfast Derby over their cross-town foes Crusaders FC in a goal fest between both sides but in the end the locals perseveres. 

With scores from Linfield from Joel Cooper 11’, Jimmy Callacher 14’, Joshua Robinson 49’and Jordan Stewart 55’ and for the visiting Crues Phillip Lowry 67’ scored the honor goal.

In Milltown down in Warrenpoint the local Point had could not contain a streaking Sky Blues of Ballymena United as the disciples of manager David Jeffrey pulled another win and stay put in first place. 

For the locals with goals from Robbie Norton 34’ penal and later Mark Griffin 86’, however the visiting Sky Blues with Cathair Freil 37’ and 45 of the first half, the second half with Adam Lecky 37’ and James Knowles 78’.
