Bournemouth 2, Huddersfield Town 1
Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth
After four consecutive losses, the Cherries finally are back in the winning column after a disputed match against a feisty Huddersfield Town looking to continue their positive run.
Those losses to Man United, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester City are now outdated and now focus in the remainder of the campaign to continue on their quest of netting a European spot for next Europa League.
For David Wagner and company after netting a perfect run, suddenly his squad has earned two back-to-back losses with their result tonight against the AFC side, as he and his Terriers are looking forward to save their hive from the abyss of relegation.
As defense wins games so, do hard work and the Cherries were on the dot with a nice defensive gem in spite of the visitors push and pressure every time these had a chance to counter, the local’s backfield came strong and persevere for the win.
This campaign for Eddie Howe and company his side is playing an amazing football and results speak louder than words, with an impressive positon in the top six and with room of moving further up in the course of the campaign.
Regardless of the early dominance in the match, for the Bournemouth squad these had a preview of what to expect in the second half of this campaign and not to get so comfortable with foes considered as easy as these Terriers were no picnic.
The local AFC their rally started with just five minutes in the game clock with a combination of Callum Wilson getting an assist from Ryan Fraser to open up the scoreboard sending the whole of Vitaly into a noisy state.
No more than seventeen minutes passed by when the combination of Callum Wilson this time assisting and passing to a well-placed and opportune Ryan Fraser put the scoreboard in favor of the locals in the 22’ minute.
So far, this combination is working marvelous for Eddie Howe, but with the winter transfers market around the corner, maybe a player or two can be what the Cherries need to front a contested second half.
In spite of the visitors reaction in the 38’ minute by Terry Kongolo the locals held the visiting Terriers into both halves with a defense gem and not allowing the visitors to look for the equalizer and leaving the south coast with horrible loss.
In the end, Bournemouth came away with the win thanks to a grand performance from its initial eleven and manager Howe moves paying off after seeing the dominance of the visitors with 67% possession and 23 shoots at goal.
