Late goal rescues at point for the Toffees

Everton 2, Watford 2
Goodison Park, Liverpool

An early goal in what seemed an intelligent play performed by the Toffees early in the first half playing their line well and seeing how their Brazilian striker Richarlison opened the score in a sold Goodison Park.

Still the local Blues were not too dominant after their first play at goal, two minutes alter came the Hornets and with a near sting but in a play missed by Troy Deeney but in the end deemed as an offside.

However, the visiting Orns became a total nightmare for the posts defended successfully by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and his backfield not allowing the Yellow Jackets any liberties but for sure incommode him all evening long.

After a lengthy fight and denials by the local School of Science, the first half ended with the Toffees in the lead and looking forward to a contested second half and for the Everton defense put on the test.

For Marco Silva sort of reunion with his old Watford Players in the end he saw the product of his work and his initial eleven efforts paid off with the draw and share of spoils after that late valuable goal on injury time.

Still this afar became a total contest in the second half and the pressure put on the visiting Watford Boys became prolific with a series of constant arrivals to the locals backfield in spite of their defense doing the job, but persistence pays off.

This was the result that the visiting Yellow Army put on all game long being down in the scoreboard and the clock taking valuable minutes away after seeing a series of lost opportunities ending in nothing but just a simple effort by the visitors strikers.

For the locals with that lone goal that sink them in the Merseyside Derby and alter a draw at home in what looked like a win for Silva and company against the Tyne- Daly squad of Newcastle, a loss would had a demoralizing front on this squad confidence.

In spite of the draw but for the locals defense stepping up and not allowing more liberties and open spaces to the visitors and not yielding to their constant minute by minute pressures that in the end their hard work paid off.

The pressure of the Hornets was still persistent seen with a miss by Roberto Pereyra free kick in what many doubted the charge the game official put on Everton’s Yerry Mina, as the locals keeper saw how the ball whistled by his posts.

The unfortunate side for Everton came in the 63’ when Watford Roberto Pereyra shoot ricochets on the right post and for Seamus Coleman nothing he hid to see the ball push accidentally for his Own Goal.

As the score tied at a goal apiece again the visitors all charge up continue in their efforts to just two minutes went by when Abdoulaye Docoure beating Coleman on the header and scoring the go ahead for the visitors in the 64’ minute to the dismay of the Everton attendees.

As many saw the revival of the Orns, in the 68’ minute a penalty given to the locals after a foul inside the area after a foul, sustained by Yerry Mina by Christian Kabasele and Gylfy Sigurdsson but the heroics of keeper Ben Foster denied the equalizer.

Once again, another of Watford’s Kabasele handball cost his side the win on injury time and in the agonizing 90+4, defender Lucas Digne sent a cannon for the visitor’s keeper to watch in disbelief how it became the game-tying goal.
