The Bohs reign in Dublin

Shamrock Rovers 0, Bohemians FC 1
Tallaght Stadium, Dublin

Despite the Gypsies troubles in the overall table fighting for their survival in this campaign and permanency in the League of Ireland Premiership. So far, in the campaign these hardened Bohs have something to brag about, by having the upper hand in the Dublin Derbies.

Ask that to their cross-town rivals the Shamrock Rovers whom they have completely being the number one client for the Boys from Phibsborough, whom they have mastered completely.

With the league of Ireland returning to it normal schedule despite one squad still missing with Cork City Champions League compromise, still one of these matches highlight in the League of Ireland was the Dublin Derby.

For manager Keith Long looking to net their third win and by playing as a visitor these wins for sure are considered valuable and on Friday night these Gypsies deliver with pride and netting three golden points.

Contrary to the Shamrock Rovers in this campaigns in four matches played just netting a lone point and the Gypsies the remainder that tells you of the pride and hard work the Dalymont Boys are putting in play against their archrivals.

As this match considered of much importance for the Shamrock Rovers keeping a close tab on third place with the Waterford Boys keeping a comfortable lead after their win over Derry City in Brandywell, now things are getting difficult for the local Hoops.

With the Blues, keeping a four-point lead over the Rovers, for manager Stephen Bradley this loss for sure hurts his side aspirations to net the last European spot as well, another setback for him will be losing to their archrivals in three consecutive times.

In this match with a contested and scoreless first half between these two titans, the second half promised to be escalating for both squads not looking for a point but the whole prize, indeed the second half become the highlight of this match.

Among one was manager Long accurate and all the right moves when he brought Eoghan Stokes for Kevin Devaney in the 64’ minute, this to boost the Bohs attack that despite some opportunities these did not solidified.

With just four minutes in the game this cha suddenly turned things around and delivered the game winning goal in the 68’ to leave the whole of Tallaght in total silence from the whole of the Hoops followers seeing in disbelief.

Especially how their squad was to surrender another match in the Derby and seeing how the Bohs once again deliver the third consecutive win and spoiling their perfect run and race for third place.

In the end despite the substitutions for Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley did in the match, the Bohs defensive game shined and stood its ground to win another Dublin contest.
