To get your club back
into contention, the Pats did it with a win and in a very comfortable and
convincing way to close down on the top spots of the overall table. Moving near
both, Derry City and the Shamrock Rovers these two tied at fourth place and
moving the Pats within one point.
With a rare Tuesday
night match scheduled of league play, the Cumann
Peile Lúthchleas Phádraig Naofa or Saint Patrick’s Athletic were to face
off against a the lads of the Cumann Peile
Chláirsigh na Finne or Finn Harps FC.
As the Super Pats
Manager Liam Buckley, so far his Boys have put an excellent and positive run in
tis month of May considered as a superb, despite the loss against the
Candystripes and a draw against the Town. Their beginnings of the week match
prove to be much better as well fruitful with a raucous win over the Harps.
A 4-0 rout over the
visiting Blues, left their man at the helm Ollie Horgan scratching his head in
disbelief in how his side overwhelmed by an inspired Pats offensive and
spectacular game seen all of the whole ninety minutes of play.
With an inspired Mike
Timlin who redeemed with a couple of goals, one in the ninth minute to lift his
side to the lead and on the 87th minute by putting the icing on the
cake, scoring his second. Then followed by Conan Byrne on the 42nd
and Billy Denehy on the 70th.
By sealing the deal
on their home turf, back at the colossus located at Inchicore in Dublin Town,
all of those followers of the St. Pats made of Richmond Stadium a madhouse to
see the display of great football displayed by the Boys.
A perfect harmony
seen by Liam Buckley Pats all afternoon long in how his initial eleven played
in the best of harmonies, with an inspired striking force that put the game
away early. Very well, to a stingy backfield that never let any of the Harps
strikers have any liberties or display any dangerous moves within Brendan
Clarke goalposts.
Despite the win, the
Pats are to prepare for their next match in the FAI Cup going against modest
first division Pike Rovers on the May 21. Their return to league action on May
29 at Dalymont Park to face the Bohemians and on June 3 back at to home to
stage back to back editions of the contested and heated Dublin Derby.
For now, the Pats
Boss Liam Buckley will prepare his squad to continue his quest in advancing in
the FAI Cup and making an impacting campaign in the Airtricity League trying
his best to finish atop the league spots and assuring them a European spot.
For the Harps Boss
Horgan will be back to basics with his chaps and make the necessary moves in
his initial eleven to prevent a meltdown as the one his Boys experienced on
Tuesday at Richmond Park. His goals are to keep his side on the Irish
Premiership and prevent a return to Irelands First Division League.
For Manager Ollie
Horgan Harps fixtures are in the FAI Cup against Crumlin United and in league
play in matches against the Shamrock Rover and Sligo Rovers.
At the end, this
afternoon dominated by a roughened St. Patrick’s Athletic and its dynamic game
all afternoon long that netted them a very valuable win and in reach of the top
four spots in the Airtricity overall table.
