How illuminated was
the Stadium of Light, seeing how their Boys once again did it with style and inspiration
to save themselves of the always-feared relegation. By seeing how an inspired
Black Cats initial eleven came prepared to play for the game of their lives.
With the feeling of playing
a final and showing off an inspired style of football, putting away a rival
that offered so little resistance and disposing of them so easily.
Three goals were
necessary to convince many detractors of this squad and send a clear message
across Tyne- Daly with a bang, especially to their arch rivals Newcastle United.
That this win was going to have a lot of after effects. By sending, their foes
once again down to the infamous and not so popular Championship League.
Perseverance and
overall persistence seen in Big Sam Boys all match long and with such
authority, they commanded the actions all the way to its end.
I mean with a shoot
that whistle across the goalposts defended by a defiant Joel Robles, little
could he did to prevent this out of the area volley in the 38th
minute by Patrick Van Aanhat, with no way he was to catch the ball that sent
all of Sunderland AWOL!
The buck did not stop
there and so far with a lone goal advantage, came the opportune appearance of
Lamine Kone who performed a double for the winning cause. With one goal in the
42nd to put the home team ahead going into halftime and in the 56th
sealing the deal.
Uplifting his team
with an impressive run in its entire ninety minutes of play and at the end, the
raucous celebrations from his teammates and fans alike in the Stadium of Light
were something taken from a fairy tale.
This in part thanks
in majority seeing how much-uninspired Everton Toffees playing without any
ambition or drive, despite on a play seen with one of its defensive duo
preventing the third goal from happening.
The irony was that Kone scored from the corner kick play that put the icing on
the cake for the Black Cats.
Another set of thanks
was to Sunderland’s one of a kind savior in Saint Sam Allardyce, who really was
a vital piece for this club salvation and its direction he took over the reign
at Stadium of Light.
For his commitment and all around image and reputation of
being, a Manager that rescues and turns troubled squads.
Big Sam the most
appropriate name to call this man that brought joy to the Stadium of Light despite
the anguish and agonies of this squad, all campaign long endured along its
followers thinking of the worst of their squad going into relegation.
This is not suitable
for people with weak conditions, as the folks back in these parts of Tyne- Daly
will not be missing the Geordies at all in those one of a kind and passionate
derbies, when they have a new kind of foe in league play by the name of Boro.
After today’s win the
Sunderland Boys sent directly to the abysm of relegation an erratic Norwich
City and the best one for them was their cross-town archrivals Newcastle
United. That in years to come when the Geordies arrive, their fans will hear,
the Sunderland chants speaking vividly of today’s feat.
Well-done Sunderland
and hopefully in next campaign you can offer better performances and prevent
another drama to your fans of relegation and you save your hives at the end.
Hope to see a new and more contested entity in Sunderland coming into next
campaign.
I do applaud your
efforts you showed off at the end, Sunderland!
