Friday night football in the NIFL was headline by an all-around upset and a clean sheet by the Lurgan Blues over soon to be crowned champions Linfield being the victims of their overconfidence.
Once again, the Cliftonville reds are on a winning streak and the promises of next campaign to be a total contender, followed by the Ards efforts paying off with a draw and earning them a valuable point.
In the Showgrounds of Coleraine, the visiting Sky Blues of Ballymena United cruised to an easy victory over the locals Bannsiders with a goal rout and three valuable points and keeping tabs with league leaders Linfield.
With a treble from Andrew McGrory scoring in the 30’, 49’, 88’, and adding to the rout Adam Lecky in the 36’ to seal the deal and net an important win on the road.

In Stangmore Park, the local Dungannon Swifts came ahead with three points as well seentneing Newry City to the abyss of relegation with another loss and spite of their lead early.
With an early score from City Declan Carville in the 53’ was not enough for the eighty time when the Swifts response was visible with scores from Paul McElroy 86’ and Jonathan Lafferty 89’.

The Oval with Glentoran and Ards with these later ones with ten men in the field were able to mount a comeback and rescue a point in spite of the local’s late goal.

In Solitude Park the revival of its Cliftonville Reds cruised to a win over Institute after the Stute side put on the pressure but golden boot leader Joe Gormley scored in the 49’.

Friday night lights in Mourneview Park with the obvious favorite to win this affair were Linfield coming and play against the Glens of Glenavon in a nationally televised match.
The second half became providential for the home side with goals Aaron Harmon opening the score in the 47’ and later the cushion goal by Josh Daniels 87’.
