What a day Windsor
Park lived today, after its Norn Iron gave a lesson to their Azerbaijani
guests, with a 4-0 rout over its Group C foes.
As Michael O’ Neill
and his initial, eleven went on a scoring frenzy and netting three points of
gold in what seems to look like a much-contested group where the Boys from
North Ireland are fighting against the odds.
Putting themselves
into a positive position in their Group of play and defeating a surprising
Milli that was looking forward with this match to erase completely the Boys of
the Green and White and catapult them to the near top.
In the case of the
Norn Iron Boss, looking forward to continue his history making as well make
another successful run into another international event, the World Cup pass can
became a reality if his Boys continue with this playing.
As you recall the
past EURO 2016, the North Ireland squad gave a one of a kind performance.
Still this match
played an important role for the Irish squad, to play a resurgent Azerbaijani
squad playing a more decent and ambitious football, for Manager O’ Neill it was
business as usual and nothing handed in a golden plate.
Especially when their
pass into the World Cup is in play and looking forward to make history as their
first time since this Federation founded, the Boys from the North can make the
feat if they have a continuance with their amazing game.
With a 4-4-1-1
formation sent by O’ Neill to face a new and hardened Milli, that its Boss
Robert Prosinecki sent a 4-1-4-1 to counter the local’s strikers and their
momentum by playing as locals and generating to them an all-around upset as a
visitor.
Not today, as the
Green and White Army performed a wondrous marvel of a match and outclassed a
visiting squad looking forward to leap the Irish squad in their group of play
and net three points that would give them ten points.
Once again, the
persistence and perseverance of Michael O’ Neill group became important for such celebrated win that netted his squad
those valuable three points and another face off against Germany and do the
ultimate of upsets.
So far in second
place after this win, North Ireland for sure is going against all odds and
being ahead in percentage over the Azerbaijanis, and just five points behind
group leader Germany.
For Michael O’ Neill and
his Green and White Army, this 2016 was a one of a kind year and closing with a
positive note in their cluster and now think ahead of 2017 and seal the deal
with their first match at home in march against Norway.
Still what a night the
colossus of Belfast Windsor Park lived with its Boys, putting on a show with scores
from Gareth McAuley, Kyle Lafferty, Conor McLaughlin and Chris Brunt, as the
Boys from the North showed off their mettle and resolve.
At the end, North
Ireland is living a new era and reins in its football, exposing a hunger for notoriety
to become not just any modest squad but a notable one and show off their new
game, looking as ambitious and hungry for new glories.
Will 2017 be the year
that the Boys of the Norn Iron can wrap their pass and consolidate themselves
as a tough national squad to beat, with every match played and major feat
performed, this team is becoming a believer.
Very well looking
forward to end their World Cup drought, that after 1986, these have not even
made it a contest since, now they are on the verge of attempting to get to the
promise land and with the labels of underdogs.
How far will they go
and if they can seal their pass in 2017, there is one way to find out.
