London Town lived
another day with an all-around contested and filled of excitement Derby, between
the Spurs and the visiting Hammers in Lane Park.
With two squads
looking desperately to net three points and return to their winning ways, we
knew of the roller coaster of a match this was to be, between these two titans,
whenever they play, emotions run in an all-time high.
With an optimist home
squad, seeing a promising sign in Harry Kane return to the Lilywhites initial
eleven and giving a boost to their offensive attack.
The Spurs playing at
home, for their Boss Mauricio Pochettino, after not savoring a win for quite some
time and still his squad enjoying an undefeated campaign; once again, his seal
was evident by putting a newcomer in his lineup.
His name is Harry
Winks a 20-year-old chap that did not let his Boss down, putting on a superb
performance, after scoring the equalizer and uplifted his squad in the second
half.
Putting in the field
a conservative 4-3-1-2 to counter a very aggressive Hammer attack after the visiting
Manager displayed a 3-4-2-1 with three forward combinations in the front with a
lone Sakho, Payet and Ayew to cause havoc on Hugo Lloris posts.
Still this match saw a
resilient and hardened West Ham squad looking to put this game in tier side and
dominate it from start to finish, as the Academy of Football making an honor to
their moniker of Irons, these really put on a display of amazing technique.
With a one two combination
from a beautifully cross pass from defender Winston Reid, it’s when midfielder
Michael Antonio took the opportune moment and shoot in what became the early
goal for the Irons and putting them ahead in the scoreboard.
Very well, the
visitors after having near scares from a determined Spurs squad, still the
first half went in favor for the West Ham Boys, seeing a light at the tunnel,
but with another 45 minutes left to play in the game and for their Boss Bilic
the moment arrived to defend their minimum lone goal lead.
With just six minutes
into the second half its when Pochettino move paid off with his new Spur Alumnus
in Harry Winks who scored the equalizer and running into the side to effusively
hug his mentor as a sign of gratefulness.
As the game did not
stayed in a pause for neither squad, it’s when the Hammers graciously saw how
the official awarded a penal in their favor and Manuel Lanzini took matter into
his own hands and converted it in the 68’ for the East side Boys lead.
In what seemed a lost
match and an odd afternoon the Spurs, all of a sudden these turned the tables
around for a come from behind win and looking good with a new face in the lineup
that for sure he will become a top rated player in no time.
The win puts the
Spurs within two points from league leader Liverpool and gets themselves ready to
play against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in another challenge dubbed as their next
London Derby and play a very serious and difficult rival in Antonio Conte squad.
A win and depending
on Man City and Liverpool results, the Lilywhites can be atop the league
overall table, but with a match scheduled in their archrivals central London
venue things can look a bit difficult but not impossible for Poches squad.
