Waterford keeping it interesting with a win at home

Waterford 2, Bray Wanderers 0
Regional Sports Centre, Waterford

In the Regional Sports Centre, the locals Waterford Blues made it interesting with a win over a reduced and relegation prone Bray Wanderers coming to town, surrendering to the push of Alan Reynolds side.

Despite losing some ground against the Shamrock Rovers, the lead from the Dubliners cut short to just two points in spite of the Hoops winning their match; in the end, we will have another race to see who will net the last European spot.

For the Blues dominance clearly in the course of both halves after their brilliant offensive display that scored in opportune times and with plenty of initiate by the Waterford clan, in the end the win persevered thanks to a zealous defending.

The endurance of their defensive game was evident that in the end to nab a clean sheet for their man under their arches Niall Corbet wo raise to the occasion and despite playing a weak foe in the Gulls, still these had their moments and the man raise to the occasion.

With scores from Sander Puri in the 38’ minute of the first half and later in the second half Noel Hunt doing the same to insure the win and scoring the go ahead goal in the 72’ minute to ensure the win as well keep a close tab on the Rovers.

Still for the Waterford side having an amazing campaign, something not envisioned by many as many experts predicted a troubled and tough campaign to maintain them in the Premier League; in the end, these are doing the opposite.

With the possibilities of seeing European football and its best in the UEFA Europa League coming to the RSC will be a sort of dream not envisioned by manager Reynolds and company, after all the directives of this club so far have built a contender.

Can wait to see the outcome of this squad for next campaign as their first one, the results these brought in what will they deliver on 2019, as the odds of this group making a dash to the top posts and maybe netting first place finish.

However, this campaign is to applaud this newly promoted side all around achievements in their first year in the SSE, which with many surprises this squad has given to its foes and followers alike, the Blues for sure will be a squad to beat in upcoming campaigns.

With this win, the Blues are keeping a close pace with the Shamrock Rovers and within two points as previously mentioned in the beginning of this post, with a few matches left in the campaign Alan Reynolds and company will not let go on their quest to seize a direct European spot.

For the Blues next week compromise against Sligo Rovers and the Shamrock Rovers going against Derry City on Saturday, in the end this race is another highlight of this campaign competiveness with a race to the top and the race for third place.
