An era of new challenges in Dundalk’s helm

This past campaign the Lilywhites of Dundalk crowned their efforts with a double. After winning the league title and then winning the always coveted and prestigious Daily Mail FAI Cup. These crowned a one of a kind campaign under the era of Stephen Kenny.

Still the man that gave the Town uplift for the best to this club and making it a highly respectable entity. For Kenny in his time span in Oriel Park uplifted this club as one of the most successful squads in the League of Ireland.

For once assistant Vinnie Perth it is time to show the teachings he inherited from his former mentor Stephen Kenny and put them into good use in another exciting campaign that promises to be another contested one for these Lilywhites.

In spite of seeing several players out of this entity and going to new challenges in the league and abroad. Still this club comes loaded with an armada that for sure will rock all of Airtricity in 2019.

However, the Lilywhites under new manager Vinnie Perth are looking forward a successful defense of their hard fought title won last year. By the way, many of the squads in the League of Ireland have armed themselves; the outcome for the defending champions will be much competed.

The departures of Ronan Murray (Sligo Rovers), George Poyton (St. Pats Athletic), Gabriel Sava (Bray Wanderers), Carlton Ubaexzuounu (Longford Town), Dylan Connolly (AFC Wimbledon), Stephen O’ Donnell (retired) and Sam Byrne (Bohemians).

Still for the think tanks in Dundalk, its directives were hard at work in getting Daniel Kelly a valuable offseason move from (Bohemians), Aaron McCarey (Warrenpoint Town) and Jordan Flores (Wigan).

With new players to come and play to Oriel Park, still the focus on new faces for this contender of a club. So far, Dundalk has managed to get important players in the likes of Robbie Benson, Lido Lotefa, Ross Treacy and Dane Massey.

In league play, the Lilywhites are one tough foe to take down; still the challenge comes in the Knockout Rounds this time of the UEFA Champions League here the goal will be to net important results and move on to the group stage.

After last year elimination by Cyprus side AEK Larnaca, in the second qualifying round after eliminating in the first the likes of Levadia Tallinn of Estonia, this time for manager Perth he has a new adventure in European Theaters.

In the end, the Lilywhites will have a very busy agenda in defending their title as well make a decorous run in Champions league and reach the coveted stages group and defend their FAI Cup title and as always, they will have strong opposition.

These will have a number of challenges and a new face in their helm with a man already familiar with Dundalk FC system, in spite of their endeavor looking tough but not impossible for a repeat and coming with the labels of all-around favorites.
