Chris wood on the double to extend Burnley streak

For Sean Dyche and his Clarets coming to the Southernmost coast of England to face off the local Brighton and Hove Albion side at Amex Stadium. The outlook of a positive result was within the gasps of Burnley but on the road, this squad is to get uplift to its performances.

However, the way the visiting Burnley side in the course of the early minutes of the game, was immense and total control of the actions over the local Gulls. As the visitors, dominance with a number of near misses and seeing a successful defense by Brighton keeper Mat Ryan. 

Still the outcome of a match being in favor of the locals became visible in the late minutes when a couple of misses by the Brighton side. That many in former Falmer Stadium almost celebrated their squad near feats but denied by Burnley’s heroics goalkeeper Tom Heaton. 

With a match that matter the most for both side battling the always-malicious relegation specters, both Burnley and Brighton were in need of a much needed win as well add three golden points to their cause. 

For Sean Dyche side was putting in the course of the whole ninety minutes a total fight and determination from start to finish and netting in what seems to be an important win over the home side looking to exercise some control. 

In the end, the Clarets put on an all-around fight all game long added with some determination that netted them three valuable points and keeping them in fifteenth place in a three-way tie with 27 points with Brighton and Crystal Palace. 

As this win does not guarantee their salvation as there is a three point’s lead over Southampton occupying the last spot in the abyss. With today’s performance the Clarets show how teamwork can work wonders and each one can be a part of that revival. 

For a season entering February this is it for any squad to make its moves in order to seek their salvation and for manager Dyche is now or never to clear his side out of the danger zones and instead put his side above the top ten spots. 

Not only defensively, but also the Clarets are making big accomplishments offensively a today their persistence finally paid off when Ashley Barnes deliver a top notch pass to a wide open Chris Woods that put the ball out of Gulls keeper Ryan. 

With a decisive shoot in the 26’ minute the visitors went up the scoreboard and taking the lead to the dismay of many Brighton followers, nonetheless in the second half again Chris Woods was to add to his tally in the 61’ minute via a pass from Dwight McNeil. 

The game turning all in favor of Burnley, in the 74’ minute these put another valuable goal in to board with a penalty shoot taken successfully by Ashley Barnes after drawing the foul inside the area. 

Two minutes later the Gulls scored the honor goal after a foul gave a direct play for the locals when after a foul when Anthony Knockaert set piece play found a well-placed Shane Duffy for the lone goal of the Gulls in the 76’ minute.
