Under Frank De Boer Atlanta looking for a repeat

For Major League Soccer 2018 edition flamboyant champions Atlanta United will not be an easy defense of its hard-earned title in this upcoming 2019 campaign. This comes as a new challenge for newcomer manager Frank De Boer making a debut in America’s top association.

With a new squad seeing some of its notable playmakers like Miguel Almiron transfer to Premiership side Newcastle United and defender Greg Garza to FC Cincinnati two players that were vital for the Five Stripes success in 2018.

As Miguel Almiron out- the question arises for manager, as Frank De Boer seeing how one of the utmost of playmakers and leaders in the field in the United game that became a difference maker and contributed for Atlanta winning the league title.

However many questions arise as manager Martino now in charge of the helm in El Tri will his successor maintain their game levels that lead them to be one of the most dominant of squads in the course of last campaign.

As the Five Stripes so far in the preseason are getting ready under the careful and attentive direction of manager De Boer looking forward to see a repetition of this squad success these displayed last campaign.

For manager Frank De Boer after his short time in Crystal Palace many view if he is the ideal substitute to former manager Tata Martino after his fracas in South London now is time to bring back his magic that earned his many headliners in the world of soccer.

As manager, De Boer comes with a good referential during his time with his Ajax where he managed to deliver four titles, still his time with Crystal Palace was not a fortunate one that just lasted three matches until his dismissal.

After last year, a number of important players came to these parts of the South, this time Atlanta United has managed to get only a few players and among one of them to be the substitute to departed Miguel Almiron.

So far, one of the moves the club made with four free agents and one purchase made to one of Argentina’s top rated club River Plate in midfielder Gonzalo Pity Martinez seen as the ideal substitute to the likes of departed Almiron as the club next playmaker.

For Pity Martinez to fill those shoes will be one of his most daring of moves in his career filled with many challenges and this campaign he for sure will step up his game and looking forward to maximize his skills in the field to deliver for Atlanta.

The arrivals of defense and midfielder Brek Shea, goalkeeper Brendan Moore, midfielder Dion Pereira and defender Florentine Pogba, the older brother of Manchester United sensation Paul Pogba for sure he will bring his years of experience to these southern lands.

In the end, this campaign Atlanta United will have a number of challenges, among one of them will be to defend successfully their hard-earned title, the Five Stripes for sure will have their hands full and under pressure for a repeat.

Prediction Atlanta United in spite of the moves and new man in its helm still has the labels of all around favorites for a repeat of another amazing campaign, but how will they fare in the contested Eastern Conference.
