With plenty of high expectations and many
illusions towards the upcoming campaign in the Airtricity League of Ireland,
the Bray Wanderers are looking to close with a bang and a possible spot for
UEFA Europa League rounds.
As 2017 will be one contested affair in the
League of Ireland, seeing this endeavor difficult but not impossible for the
Boys native from Bray County.
After closing on a strong note, the Seagulls
performances at the end of the campaign became notable and these all of a
sudden became involved in a notable winning streak and strong sixth place.
With just sixteen points from the league
last European spots.
For the Gulls Boss Harry Kenny it will for
him a challenging campaign ahead for him and his bunch looking forward to move
the league table in spite of the competition coming from Cork City, Shamrock
Rovers and Derry City.
Very well competing with the likes of the Louth
county and three times league champions Dundalk FC will give Manager Kenny a
handful of ideas or strategies to come atop these squads, considered in league
circles as the abominable giants.
So far, the Bray squads has been busy in
the off-season reinforcing many of its weak spots and contend, adding to their
current roster a Striker, defender and midfielder to front in what will be a
very heated and disputed 2017 campaign.
The arrival of striker Anthony Flood coming
from the Marconi Stallions of the Australian Premier League, Derek Foran from
the United States development Sacramento
Republic defender and Bohemians FC midfielder Keith Buckley.
Expectations are high and with plenty of
optimism ahead of a campaign that the Bray Boys can develop into a successful
one and at the end, they can compete in the always-prestigious UEFA Europa
League final rounds to reach the coveted knockout stages.
At the end for the Seagulls man at the helm
is aims are not only deposited of making this squad a spoiler but a total
contender and put it among the top three in the table and make into an
all-around top of the line winner.
Still there is plenty of work to perform
and adapt its new players into Kenny game scheme and his initial eleven to
start once again making all types of headlines coming opening day in league
action.
I would not lose sight of this squad in the
campaign that is about to start and for sure can make a stand against many of
the so-called giants of the League of Ireland, a top four finish is among the
plans.
The main aim for the Gulls Boss will be not
only the league or internal trophies, but a European spot will be the icing in
the cake for Harry Kenny.
