What do you get when
you get a strong-minded group of individuals fighting against all odds,
delivering a one of a kind performance, and never giving up throughout the
whole ninety minutes of an important match?
A total winner and an
all-around spoiler, I must say!
In the case of today’s
match where the Liverpool Reds playing with the label of favorites, going
against one squad with one of the most horrid records at home and especially
away.
After making so far
changes in its helm with its third Manager, it looks like this time they got
the ideal man that can provide salvation in Paul Clement.
Considered a prime
candidate for relegation and into the infamous Championship tier, the Swansea
Swans were the underdogs and this match considered as an easy affair for the
local Kop Boys to net three easy points.
Sorry Mister Klopp
but this squad has a sudden determination and resolute will of making a
comeback, salvages its campaign, and sees another campaign in the ranks of the
English Premier League with sheer pride.
In today’s match, we
saw perseverance in a squad looking forward to make a total statement in trying
to get their game back and restore the lost respect they once enjoyed in the
past and now focus in the future.
For Jürgen Klopp side
it was business as usual and those near misses and dominance of the match at
times, not taken advantage in the scoreboard, that at the end would been the
difference maker and the Reds did not capitalize.
With a match that
came alive offensively for both squads in the second half and seeing a barrage
of arrivals from both squads, the icebreaker came courtesy of the Swans front
man Fernando Llorente who opened up the hostilities in the 48th
minute.
As the Spaniard
striker not only taking advantage of the play were the ball bouncing inside the
are like a pinball, the matador use his scoring abilities to pass a ball under
Wijnaldum for the first score to the look of an astonished Kop.
After four minutes
passed, once again the magic of Tom Carroll passing the ball inside the area
for a well-placed Fernando Llorente who just pushed the ball with a beautiful
header for the 2-0 in the 52nd minute.
This to the disbelief
for Liverpool Boss Klopp seeing its side going down for the count and the clock
on the move, seeing an easy match slipping until a brilliant and opportune
Firmino came in the clutch and deliver.
As the Amazonian man
pride revived the whole colossus of Anfield with a header coming from a James
Milner pass in the 55th minute, three minutes passed for the Reds
reaction and awakening a dormant Kop.
The 69th
once again the combination of Clyne to Wijnaldum and finishing with a cross to
Firmino who pushed the ball with a cannon ball of a volley, putting the scores
even and with twenty minutes still left fort this match, Liverpool was staging
a one of a kind comeback.
Still the numbers of
opportunities were abundant for both squads and especially for the Liverpool Boys
that luck was not with them in this match as the persistence of getting that go-ahead
goal that never made it and would been the difference maker.
In the case of the
Swans never letting their guard down and after the rebellious Reds looking to deal
the big blow, it was them who got the last laugh at the end and this in part to
an opportune play that define this match.
When the Swansea man
or better known as their talisman in Gylfi Sigudsson who was in the right place
and the right time, dressed up at the end as the match hero delivering the winning
goal after a rebound from a Tom Davies shoot and the rest is history.
As Paul Clement savior
a one of a kind victory and delivered a big blow to the locals championship
hopes with his Boys delivering an all-around upset and moving out of the infamous
abyss of relegation, with eighteen points these are two points in the clear.
Very wee leaving the
Liverpool Boss in a total state of shock and disbelief in what a squad known in
this campaign with its irregular play and horrific football and at the end
delivered with a fighting stance.
