Welcome to Major League Soccer Minnesota United, as the North Star State welcomes the arrival of its new squad to make its debut in America’s top tier, going into its 21st edition.

With the addition of both Atlanta United and Minnesota United, this 2017 the league saw an increase of twenty-two squads.

Still the road to greatness and making a full impact as a new squad in its first year, is something a bit laborious.

Despite expansion teams getting a favorable position in player’s selections in both drafts.

Building a contender takes time, but in the case of the United squad Boss Adrian Heath, taking the reins of another expansion club in MLS, and this time he can make it work as a total contender.

So far Minnesota United is betting on experience and with Manager Heath vision, the new kids in MLS can really start capturing all sorts of headlines as a one of a kind competitor.

By making it one of its utmost priorities of making an all-around feat of taking this squad into the promise land of the postseason in its debut year, seems difficult but not impossible.

For the former Minnesota Stars and from its NASL days were they won five shields in this association to their new jump into the top circuit of MLS, the Loons will open a new chapter in soccer history in the Twin Cities.

The Loons will make the Western Conference their new home and competing with squads of the likes of the LA Galaxy, Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders, San Jose Quakes, Vancouver Whitecaps and Colorado Rapids to mention a few.

Very well entering a new level of competition and with the foes to play and dispute a spot for the top six spots to earn a trip to the grand fete of the playoffs, the need to get the best of players to make up this team is undoubtedly one of their utmost priorities.

With the US Open Cup, Supporters Shield and MLS Shield as the top trophies to dispute, the United gang will try its best to add more silverware to their trophy halls in their temporary home in Minneapolis TFC Bank Stadium.

Later moving to Twin City St. Paul to their new stadium in Snelling- Midway, to open in 2018, seating 21,500 Loon faithful and making the Minnesota squad with own place to call home.

The aims of this club is to make a good stand in this campaign and that’s why they reinforced their backfield, the arrivals of Kevin Venegas, Justin Davis, Vadim Demidov,  Joseph Greenspan and Francisco Calvo to headline this club defensive corps.

In the midfield and frontal attacks, so far the names of former Montréal midfielder Johan Venegas, Thomas de Villardi, Miguel Ibarra, Collin Martin, Collen Warner and  Mohammed Saeid.

Despite seeing a few experienced men to headline the Loons midfield, for Manager Heath combining experience and young blood and maybe the arrival of another reinforcement his squad will offer a new dynamic and depth in their overall attack.

So far, the Loons striker core includes two of its NASL originals in Christian Ramirez and Femi Hollinger- Janzen alongside their first pick in the draft, UCLA’s Adi Danladi.

As the United top brass headed by their Sporting Director scraping every corner of the globe to bring to 10,000 Lakes an all-around fighter and resilient squad in its Loons,  but the need of reinforcing many areas of need is imperative to contest this 2017.

At the end, the Minnesota United bunch will offer us an amazing campaign and will become a true competitor in Major League Soccer, very well readying to make their debut on opening day plying as a visitor against the Portland Timbers at Rose City.
