2017 MLS Final: Toronto on the verge of league prominence

What a year the Toronto FC had, as this 2017 edition of Major League Soccer the Reds performed a wondrous campaign, by winning everything that came their way and now looking forward to the grand finale.

With the Voyagers Cup, the highest prize Canadian soccer awards its top squad, the Supporters Shield that MLS awards to the club with the best record and once again in back to back fashion winning the Eastern Conference trophy.

I must say, a banner of a campaign and a plus of coming into this final with the labels of all around favorites, the Reds are looking forward to deliver the elusive MLS Shield and history on this occasion.

As Major League Soccer seeing a repeat of last campaign grand finale between Toronto FC and the Seattle Sounders, a rematch of last campaign, this time will be loaded with an array of fireworks from both squads.

With each squad loaded with dynamite in its initial elevens, this final has all the elements of one filled with plenty to display and really look forward to watch.

The skies are the limit but for what squad entering into this 2017 grand finale that despite the Reds are heavily favorites at the end I see this affair as an even one.

By stating, the amount of weapons these two titans show off, the best of strategies will prevail.

For Toronto’s Boss Greg Vanney with another major challenge to tackle and facing his nemesis one more time, this will be a time to decide what formation will be the ideal one to send to the field comes this Saturday December 9.

In the semifinals playing a determined, and unstoppable Columbus Crew, the way manager Vanney stopped this squad all around momentum in the second and descicive match, was with a very defensive 5-3-2 formation.

As always, with Gio and Altidore to do the damage to the opposing defenses, his threesome in the midfield and five-man defense was enough to stop the streaking Crew cold in their tracks with a single goal.

Voila, Greg Vanney and company did another grand feat!

As in the regular campaign, this man has revolution in all of MLS circles with his traditional 3-5-2 formations that are pure poison to the opposing squads all around offensive and defensive game.

Still this man does not rely on just one strategy or formation as Vanney has an array of tricks under his sleeve and this time after last year disappointing final loss, he and his bunch is one ready squad determined for everything.

With the tale of the tape as this expression used in boxing terms but yours very truly utilizes in describing squad strengths, the TFC is loaded with an arsenal in its starting lineup or in its bench whatever the need is.

For many seeing in this squad its trio in Jozy Altidore, Sebastian Giovinco and Michael Bradley what else this squad would ask for as well its opposition seeing in this trio a genuine treat, especially for the opposing defenses.

As last campaign we remember the likes of Clint Irwin defending the posts, an injury was enough for the Reds manager to see the likes of Alexander Bono raising to the occasion and seizing the starting job.

In defense with the likes of Steven Beitashour, Eriq Zavaleta, Drew Moor, Chris Manniga, Justin Morrow and Marco Delgado, any of these chaps can deliver in the clutch when needed.

The midfield with Bradley leading his orchestrators in Victor Vazquez, Jonathan Osorio and Nick Hagglund in utility or even Steven Beitashour playing as a defensive midfield this position is one solid one in the TFC attack.

A frontal attack composed by Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore is one deadly and nightmarish for the opposing defenses, as these when they are out Tossaint Ricketts, Armando Cooper and Raheem Edwards can be an ideal fill in.

This time there’s no turning back for the Toronto Boys as they are ready and poised to deliver the ultimate of battles in this MLS Final, the question, how determined and hungry the Reds are and coming as favorites will this put some pressure on the Canadians.

This is it and no turning back for the TFC Reds looking forward to rewrite history as the first Canadian squad, to win the coveted and much-desired MLS Cup, can they make it a foursome?

Bon Chance TFC Rouges!
