If you state that Pep
Guardiola has the Midas touch, you may be right, ever since this man career started
as manager, he has become one of the most prolific in the world.
Going into his second
year at the helm of the Sky Blues, Pep has instituted not only a winning
attitude but also a sense of confidence to all of his players by seeing an
all-around revival in Etihad.
Yes, the Citizens are
currently delivering a one of a kind campaign and playing a tough game of
football and so far are in a record setting run by delivering sixteen wins in a
consecutive form.
Very well solidifying
their first place position, with a commanding fourteen-point lead over their
closest chasers Manu, Chelsea and Arsenal, with a rout over their foes.
Still the campaign is
not over and with Premiership coming to its first half finish.
So far, Pep Guardiola
and company seen as the league champions, despite EPL’s campaign being in its
core and time in it for many squads to be in the title race, for some by the
looks of City successful campaign.
By conceding early,
the race for the league shield is over.
With today’s match
celebrated in Etihad the Manchester City bunch had in front of them a very
resilient and battling Tottenham Hotspurs coming to town and by the hand of
their manager Mauricio Pochettino, the Londoners were looking for a big win.
Not against this
Etihad based squad, playing a wondrous game of football that is delivering all
sorts of panic to their foes after seeing how these close their games with an
absolute authority and a goal rout that is becoming a nightmare for the
opposing defenses.
Ask that to a
surprised and overpowered Tottenham bunch leaving Manchester with a goal rout
and exposing their initial eleven weaknesses whenever these play against a big
squad that they cannot overcome their aggressive and fierce football.
As Pep and company did,
a repass over the Spurs with a 4-1 goal rout were the likes of Kevin De Bruyne
and Raheem Sterling shined as well a renewed Leroy Sane that in every match
this chap is displaying a one of a kind game.
Still in week 18 of
Premiership the game that highlighted as most important was the one between the
Lilywhites and Citizens, with both squads initial elevens plagued with top of
the line players, very well with strikers in Sergio Aguero versus Harry Kane.
Today Kane considered
as an emerging player and seen to be among the top players alongside Cristiano
Ronaldo, Neymar and Lionel Messi, today this man stellar performances eclipsed
by a stingy and overpowering City defenses.
At the end the Spurs
shots on goal were reduced to just seven versus twenty of their hosts.
By a parade of
strikers making their target, the Citizens sentenced the match with goals from
Ilkay Gundahan, Kevin De Bruyne and a double by Raheem Sterling the Sky Blues not only sentenced this match into their sweet sixteen win.
