The Irons recovery under
David Moyes is seeing a total 360 degrees transformation for the better, as for
some the specter of relegation is starting to become outdated after a
meritorious win over a decimated Potters.
So far, this match
marks a second win for the Scotsman that catapults his Hammers out of the danger
zone and starting to put some distance from the spots of relegation, that after
today’s feat these reached fifteenth place.
The positive results have
given the Irons a hefty 17 points and two points lead over newest resident in Newcastle
United that with today’s loss against the Arsenal Gunners, earn them a spot in
the relegation spots.
Still with Premiership
returning to action after midweek activity, the draw against the Gunners and a
week before delivering a spoiler against Chelsea, surprising the whole of Premiership
after Moyes squad delivered a wondrous upset over the defending champions.
With a match
scheduled on Bet 365 Stadium, the West Ham Boys were to play against a
struggling Stoke City seeing their luck dwindle lately in several matches,
bringing loads of pressure to manager Mark Hughes.
This match marked the
return of Mark Arnatouvic to face his old alma matter after going to play to
the London based Irons in a record summer transfer fee of £24 million, in a bid
for this squad to reinforce his attack.
Moreover, despite
having a slump in his game under Slavan Bilic, now under David Moyes ever since
his arrival the Austrian game is seeing a recovery and today’s match whenever
he touched the ball the whole of former Britannia booed him.
Still that did not stopped
him in displaying his game all evening long and after many tries of scoring his
goal finally came to the dismay of his former followers in all of Staffordshire
after scoring in what became the go ahead goal.
However first things
first when the Hammers after refusing the play of the locals, the visitors
stage an attack from one side of the field to the opposite side when Manuel Lanzini
was tripped inside the area by a challenge from Stoke defender Erik Pieters.
Regardless of the heated
protests from the Potters, bench and players alike seeing their fortunes lessen
after a failed shoot at goal that crash on the Hammers posts and then a non-foul
call and alter the call in favor of the visiting London Boys.
Stoke City and Mark
Hughes are not seeing the light of day by seeing their troubles mount in every match
and today was on exception with an early goal via a penal taken by West Ham
Mark Noble in the 19 minute.
Not only Marko Arnatouvic
seeing his game getting a boost but for Manuel Lanzini and the whole of West Ham
initial eleven, especially in its backfield seeing how his defensive core is
seeing their levels of confidences moving up for the better.
However, the course
of the match was totally in favor all match long for the Hammers and occasionally
seeing the Potters making some dangerous moves and shoots towards the posts
defended by Adrian and at the end earned a clean sheet.
The offensive might
and wondrous performance today by Lanzini who is performance and participation was
reward with a couple of assists for goal and his play created a penal that gave
his Irons the opening lead.
On minute 75, he
started a play when Marko Arnatouvic passed to him and he elevated the ball
that landed in the Austrian feet to just push the ball for the second goal and
go ahead goal still that was not the end.
The persistence and multiple
intents of the Academy of Football players delivered a rewarding finish when
Lanzini passed the ball to Diafra Sakho to finish and beat Jack Butland in the
86 minute and seal the deal.
For David Moyes this win,
marks an emerging Hammers squad out of not only relegation but also starting to
climb some notable spots in the overall table and looking a bit confident that
the Londoners recovery is imminent.
Very well seeing in
its trouble manager David Moyes a recovery in his strategies and game that with
a notable finish in the campaign can erase that entire negative image this man
has amassed in the past to a positive one in the end of this campaign.
