The Man has a series
of monikers allusive to his performances in the field with his beloved Portland
Timbers, as many call him Maestro (Master) or el Jefe (Chief), but the great
Diego has capture one of the utmost of honors in Major League Soccer.

And who else than the
one of a kind and amazing Rose City fans considered the tops in all MLS, with
their chants of MVP heard every time the man made a once of a kind play or
touched the ball, these were the responsible for such an honor.
Very well the press
core alongside his club and teammates adding to the cause of the Andean, this
crown an excellent career in this amazing and spectacular Rose City squad.

With a list of top of
the line players Don Diego edge the likes of David Villa- NYCFC, Sebastian
Giovinco- Toronto, Nemamja Nikolic- Chicago, Michael Bradley- Toronto, Victor Vazquez-
Toronto, Josef Martinez- Atlanta and Miguel Almiron- Atlanta to mention a few.
With squads of the likes
of Toronto that had three of its players making the list and Atlanta with two,
the Eastern Conference looked in this campaign like the leading of conferences
with the most prolific players versus Diego Valeri being the only one from the
West.

Without any further review
Diego Valeri took the top of honors in the top US Soccer association it offers every year to its best player and the
man from Argentina became the third honoree to get such trophy behind Christian
Gomes- DC United 2006 and Guillermo Barros Schelotto- Columbus 2008.

Still the midfielder
made all sorts of feats in this 2017, despite his squad fell prey of oddities,
and slumps his winning desire and spirit never quit and injecting it to his teammates
in the field for the PTFC strong finish.
Among one of them is being
the second player in the league 22 year history to record at least 20 goals and
10 assists in the same campaign, tying for fifth most in a single season of
this league history.

Adding to his deeds
of being a four time All Star, 2015 MLS Cup MVP and three times MLS Best XI is
considered as Portland’s top scorer with 58 career MLS Goals and once again as
mentioned before the first Timber to be named MLS MVP.
The fans have spoken.
As they, say in
Spanish “Honor a quien honor merece”, meaning “Honor to Whom Honor is Due”,
well done Maestro you deserve it and well deserved congratulations Che Diego!
