Champions League draw gives English teams an all-around challenge

With their fate already determined for all the sixteen squads that moved on to the next levels of the always-prestigious Champions League tournament sweet sixteen face offs.

The challenges ahead for all six English squads look like an all-around challenge.

As group leaders Tottenham, Man United, Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea going through as second best, the heat is on to deliver notable and one of kind results as the EPL well represented with its best.

For Tottenham and its manager Mauricio Pochettino looking forward for his upcoming date against Italian league giants Juventus, the tables are set for them to prove what they are made off.

After a successful first round in Group H, finishing above last edition champion and Spanish giant Real Madrid, the Spurs made a remarkable run in the early stages of this contested competition after taking care of serious foes like Borussia Dortmund, Appoell Nicosia and even Madrid.

Seeing this as a new challenge for Mauricio Pochettino as he knowingly being out of the race of the Premiership shield, this will be a good pretext for him to motivate his side to go for the ultimate of prizes.

Forecast between Tottenham and Juventus, even.

For Manchester United drawing against La Liga Sevilla FC the Europa League three times winner, but so far in Champions their luck has dwindle, as Jose Mourinho and company are looking forward to a repeat of another big shield in the international stages.

After winning the 2016-17 UEFA Europa League and restoring United’s international reputation, now his challenge is to deliver another major trophy to Old Trafford halls with the Red and White being their first test of fire in this competition.

Despite the Red Devils finishing first in their group of play and being almost in the brink of near elimination after that loss in Basel, their sheer perseverance endured at the end and by displaying a serious game of football, which delivered their pass.

In this series for Manchester United and Sevilla FC, I give a slight edge to Manu.

So far for the league leaders Manchester City and despite these losing in midweek to Ukrainian giants Shaktar Donetsk, the Citizens are with a high riding momentum and looking forward to seal a perfect campaign.

After exercising a notable dominance in Premiership and now moving on the elimination rounds against Swiss side Basel 1893, Pep Guardiola has his hands full in juggling a busy schedule between league play and international competition.

As well looking forward to establish in his Sky Blues as a powerhouse in Europa and the best way by doing it is by winning the long eared shield, given to the best squad in the old continent, closing a one of a kind campaign.

With no doubt, Manchester City is the overall favorite to advance into the next rounds.

Jürgen Kloop and Liverpool Reds are playing lately a wondrous game of football and not losing hope in the race for the league title, despite their weekend draw in the Merseyside Derby against a resurgent Everton FC.

However, the Boys from the Kop experiencing some problems in league play with some injuries and a feeble defense, exposing some weaknesses in his starting lineup, for luck the German expects that the winter transfers market open up as soon as possible.

With it, he can net some notable players to reinforce this area considered as their Achilles heel and reinforce his squad on the eve of a contested second half in Premiership and establishing a continuance of dominance in Champions League.

Going against Portuguese giants Porto FC, the Liverpool Boys are clear favorites to advance.

As the adage states that the Chelsea Blues had to dance against the ugly one, after juggling with a troubling campaign but with a light at the end of the tunnel for Antonio Conte, the Italian is looking forward to an all-around miracle in this stage of Champions.

I mean after Conte giving up on the title race, his aims were to consolidate his group with successful Champions performances were these finished in second place in Group C behind Roma, their upcoming compromise is not an easy one.

By facing off a tough and resilient Barcelona, the odds looked a bit difficult but not impossible as anything can happen between these two in this clash dubbed of the titans, with both powerhouses showing off their might and mettle.

Barcelona looks slightly favorites but do not discard the Chelsea Boys out of the picture.

At the end in this edition of Champions League, once again the squads of Premiership outnumbered the Spanish and Italian with two each and one representative from Portugal, Turkey, Switzerland, Ukraine, France and Germany.

Making the English squad, the overall favorites to be among the top four finalists of this event, but will these come through a contested field and who will deliver the glories of Champions League.
