Last campaign saw a
mutiny in Stamford Bridge, after seeing one of its worst starts and for both
Manager Jose Mourinho and the Blues, suddenly this club started dipping down
the league overall table. With a losing streak and not seeing any positive, the
defending league champions were in a dire situation as well seeing a certain
discrepancies between Mourinho and several of his players.
That led a revolt in
the dressing rooms over their Boss that had to leave in a not so honorable way.
By seeing this
situation the club front office let go one of its most successful Bosses in its
history and all of a sudden this club did
not had an identity in the field and its game.
After finishing a
horrific tenth place and saving themselves of possibly going down the abyss
thanks to relief man Guus Hiddink, that rescue this club from a major
catastrophe, imagine it fighting or going down to Championship.
What an irony would be
if this club winning it all and the next campaign fighting for its survival!
Still this club
rescue some of its lost honor in the first half after enduring a losing skid
and recovered in the second half to post a notable record and despite not
finishing in its accustomed top spots of the league table, at the end they
saved their hives and regroup as a team.
As well, the whole
squad came together to salvage their campaign at the end, the need of change
was immediate for this club to front a new campaign fill with lots of
surprises.
Seeing ahead the
difficult panorama it’s when this club front office took matters into their own
hands and not gambling with their squad future it’s when they decided to get
into their helm a reputable Manager and with lots of rank.
Without any further
redo the Pensioners front office, thank kindly the work of their rescuer and
went into the task of doing a thorough search anywhere for a man to return this
club pride and winning identity back.
It is when this club announces
the arrival of Antonio Conte to take over the reins at Stamford Bridge as well having
as a referral of being one of Italy’s top rated Manager in Serie A League Calcio
with Juventus and being with his country national team.
Roman Abramovic Chelsea’s
polemic owner did pull a rabbit out of a hat by landing is ideal man to lead
his Blues ahead in what seemed another contested campaign in England’s top
flight as well level his club with the likes of both Manchester squads chivalry
in its helm.
As Man City with Pep
Guardiola and Manu with his former right man in Jose Mourinho leading his arch-rivals destinies in the upcoming 2016-17 edition of Premiership, he needed
to counter with a big name and Conte was his ace under the sleeve.
Still the Russian
tycoon did had a prize to pay not when
he offered the Italian a multimillionaire contract but to let his soon to be
top man finish his business in this edition of Euro with the Italian national team. Where he did not shined on with the Azzurri
and considered by many as the worst Italian squad to compete in Euro.
Nobody’s perfect, as
the Italian with three league titles and two Italian super cups under his belt
is enough for him to start mayhem in the EPL with his Blues, after his arrival
he has made so far a couple of signings, nothing big or prize exorbitant as in
Mourinhos days.
With Leicester City
top rated midfield N’ Golo Kante and Marseille’s Michy Batshuayi, the Italian
will bet on his current roster and returning pack of wolves to front a challenged
campaign which I doubt this squad once again will finish above fifth place.
Very well the imminent
return of the Pensioners to Europe will be seen at the end of this campaign, something
that has attracted my attention from Conte is the way he is chasing top rated
players from various leagues around seventeen and eighteen years of age to make
up Chelsea initial eleven.
That translates of
him making radical changes with academy players from abroad and this club own
crop of talent that can diminish this club expenditures in years to come and
forming of a contender with its youth before you say Bobs your uncle!
At the end, this club
once again will be in the league elite as well fighting for the top of the league
and it is always prestigious and coveted Barclays Shield and with Conte in the helm
will return as the king of EPL and Europe as well.
Making it a bit tough
for Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard, Chelsea problem children to shine
or else very well prove their value as players and leave the politics to the politicians
as their faith can end in another entity.
