Forget the spending frenzy
by this North London club been exposed in the past with no success at the end, as
the more they invested on big name
players, these turned sour and being an all-around bust for the Spurs Premiership
aspirations.
Since the arrival of
Spurs new Boss Mauricio Pochettino this club has seen an improvement of an
almost 100% alongside its last campaign run that almost caressed the league
shield and at its end this club lack of experience was to blame.
As the campaign ended
this club, surrender its second spot to their archrivals from cross-town
Arsenal and still finished a decorous third place.
Nothing strange with
a championship that causes a lot of strain and fatigue in its players and the
Lilywhites experienced this problem first hand. As FA and Capital One Cups,
National team duties and the league schedule that became a good reason for this
young squad to surrender.
One positive since the
arrival of Pochettino was the contribution of this club to England’s National squad
with five players in Golden Boot Winner Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Danny
Rose and Kyle Walker.
Still the merits of
Poche in getting a contender since his arrival in 2014 to White Hart Lane have
been outstanding alongside its stability and order restored. The unfortunate
side of the story is that not everything has been a rose garden, but with a few
thorns when one of Poches right hand man since his days at the Coast as his top
recruiter, leaving the squad after citing difference with the team chairman.
As the show must go
on, so did the Londoners were able to make some moves in the market, nothing lucrative
or netting big names to come and play in these parts of London Town and
reinforce its side.
In the transfers
market the Argentinian went back to his old squad and purchased the likes of
Victor Wanyama from Southampton and Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmar to reinforce
this club side and attend their immediate needs.
For the Spurs man at
its helm Mauricio Pochettino he has always been a visionary of the clubs so far
he has managed especially its academy and in this campaign, we will see how the
Andean will surprise us with an ace under his sleeve.
One thing to see from
this squad is its involvement in Champions League, not a stranger in these type
of competitions- as the Lilywhites always been active participants in the Europa
League with no immediate success, as in this campaign this will be a new challenge
for them. Very well see how will they fare in this edition despite the heated competition
coming from Serie A, la Liga and Ligue squads will bring to the early rounds.
As this young squad known
for its determination, fast and spectacular football- this campaign will see a
more mature initial eleven and bench performing its best to net some shields-
not seen for quite a while here in White Hart Lane.
With this motto “To
Dare is to do”, the odds of this club making stellar performances in all of its
competitions are very promising in what seems to be another edition of the
English Premier League filled with lots of challenges as well its always-contested
trait.
Here this club energy
filled and ambitious youth and experienced players that can do the ultimate of
results and not surprise us with a run for the title and maybe deliver other
trophies to its halls as well putting their odds to a 5-1 to win it all!
In Poche the Lilywhites
trust!
