A nice win for the
Hoops at Tallaght over a resilient and fighting Wexford Youths squad, so far
seeded in fourth place the Hoops behind Cork and Derry Cities. The Boys of
Stephen Bradley are poised to gain some ground in the Airtricity Table and
assure themselves a European spot.
As the saying states
that, there is no such thing than an easy foe.
The Wexford Youths 11
is a squad fighting for its permanency in the big circuit, so their game is not
a walk in the park lately and many of its opponents have a tough time
deciphering their game.
Ask that to a first
place and top line squad Dundalk FC who got the surprised by the Youths game
and victimized them by a score of 2-1.
With league play back
on track, this match between the Hoops and Warriors was to be a total challenge
for the Dublin Boys looking forward to move up the league overall table and net
a spot to Europa League. Very well, try its best to catch the likes of Cork
City that so far have a five points lead over them placed in third place.
A match that started
with a resilient and hardened Warrior 11 making all sorts of plays and looking
for the right opportunity to open up the score, their perseverance finally paid
off with a nice shoot that opened the score.
With a determined Danny Furlong opportune play, suddenly his Youths were
ahead in the scoreboard.
Still one thing the
new Hoops Boss Bradley has instituted on his Boys is to fight back and
persevere, when they were down, all of a sudden the Rovers started a tremendous
offensive display and with an intelligent game. The tables turned in favor of
the Hoops, when Gary McCabe, Brendan Miele and Sean Boyd became the heroes of
the match thanks to their scores.
After the Youths keep
their lead, it was in the when 36th
when Gary McCabe, since Bradley arrival
at the Hoops helm he netted the starting job and with a nice 20 yard out kick
that found the corner of the net to even the scores at one goal apiece.
Not even three
minutes passed when Brandon Miele beating both Warriors and Youth keepers he
scored the go-ahead goal with a shoot that ranged more than 25yards out and the
third goal came with a Trevor Clarke cross to Sean Boyd to seal the deal in the
second half.
The wins assure three
points of gold and keep them near both Cork and Derry City for the last
European spot as a good motivator ahead for their next match in the FAI Irish
Daily Mail Cup against Athlone Town on Friday 19th.
The Cumann Peile Ruagairí na Seamróige is looking forward to salvage their troubled campaign
and look forward to net some shields in league competitions as well lock a trip
to the always prestigious Uefa Europa League.
