The Lodeiro factor is what Seattle Sounders needed

All of a sudden, the Seattle Sounders are posting back-to-back wins and its eleven playing a one of a kind football like in the old days, thanks to a single man that started a playing revolution with this squad eleven.

As the Seattle, squad embroiled in a losing streak not common for a squad that since its inception to Major League Soccer in 2009 has always been present in its postseason and never seems to failed until this campaign odd results.

The club top brass decided to part ways with Sigi Schmidt the only Manager this club has ever had in its history who has won it all except the big shields.

A club that in the postseason did not got any big names to reinforce its ranks, still with their homegrown product in Jordan Morris who is profiling as rookie of the year after a one of a kind campaign performed so far.

Still the Seattle Sounders after experiencing some relevant absences during Copa America and the World Cup qualifiers as well notable injuries, it was time to open up the wallet but smartly, to get the ideal man for the job, and perform at its end.

One the change in the club helm was evidently after many negative results the Schmidt cycle ended and started a new one with assistant Brian Schmetzer promoted to take over the reins of the Sounders.

Soon after his announcement the arrivals of Uruguayan midfield Álvaro Fernandez a sort of homecoming for him after his stint in Emerald City back in 2010-12.

The headliner of this deal was the arrival of creative midfielder form one of Argentina’s premier squads Boca Juniors in Nicolas Lodeiro, who left to join the Rave Greens , a player with such a touch and class in the midfield.

Soon he arrived, his debut became immediate and considered spectacular.

Witnessing a 1-1 draw against Seattle utmost rivals the LA Galaxy, on his second match against Orlando City- Nico became this squad main man in the field passing and setting up plays something not seen for in this campaign.

In this match suddenly Nicolas Lodiero was present and given credit to all of Clint Dempsey three goals match where he was the one responsible for the assists, with a couple and defeating a decimated Orlando City for a final score of 3-1.

Coming back to Century Link and face a hardened and tough to score Nick Rimando and his Real Salt Lake, these matches between these clubs have the all-around essence of a Derby, here the former Boca man, opened up the score with a spectacular kick for the 1-0.

Not done yet with his work, he and Clint Dempsey started a play that Jordan Morris sealed with a nice goal for the 2-0 and despite the near misses from the Uruguay native throughout the whole match, his game has become very notable for his dynamic and joy in it.

So far he has adapted to his new teammates and working wonders in the midfield with Cristian Roldan, Osvaldo Alonso and Andreas Ivanschitz and making a great one two with Clint Dempsey and Jordan Morris in the frontal attack.

This player reminds me a lot with his counterpart in Portland Timbers Diego Valeri and that great in the Crew called Guillermo Barros Schelotto and Federico Higuian, because of the importance of his role with the Seattle squad. As we are to see Valeri and Lodeiro going face-to-face next week at  Century Link Park, were he will play his first ever Cascadia Derby and all of its excitement.

This match-up will became one serious one between these two Andeans in the future.
For now Nicolas Lodeiro will become another immortal in the pantheon of greats of Major League Soccer, with his contributions to the game here in America, he for sure will play an important role of his club run to the postseason.

So far, he has contributed with his leadership and game to seven points for the Rave Greens as well starting to move his squad up towards the red line of the postseason and five points behind his squad nemesis in the south the Portland Timbers.

This a player to watch and that will make all around history with the Seattle Sounders, maybe he can be the one to deliver the always elusive Western Conference and MLS Shields, welcome to America’s prime soccer Nicolas Lodeiro!
