Look out for the new Manchester United

The start of the Mourinho era is on and with a loud bang, after the Red Devils 11 showed off their new might by completely dominating the local Cherries at Vitality Stadium.

As opening day hit the whole of English Premier League this weekend, many squads had the opportunity to show off their new signings in players and Managers.

This was the case for the new Manchester United squad showing off a new eleven with new faces and especially one very controversial one that for sure will deliver once again to this club its long lost prestige after three enduring years of agony.

Although during Louis Van Gaal two years in charge of this club helm, the Dutchman among his feats he delivered a FA Shield and a brief trip to Champions League.

As the Portuguese arrival to Old Trafford after all those years of competition against this squad, with his Chelsea Boys, now he has a new mission to make once again a contender in his Red Devils, who lacked a certain drive to excel.

With his all familiar 4-2-3-1 formation, Manu had the ideal game plan and very well worked wonders against another renewed and a squad full of optimism and drive to excel in this edition of Premiership, AFC Bournemouth.

By sending as a lone striker the likes of Zlatan Ibramovic, the Swede really put on a show and with his all-around energy and ultimate playing heroics during all of those ninety minutes of play. Flanked behind him were a good trio of chaps in Ander Herrera, Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial.

Despite not seeing Henrik Mkhitaryan in the initial lineup and Paul Pogba the expensive new toy for Mou-not even suited up in the bench due to a suspension, the question will be of when will his debut will be. As United next match at home and first one at the Theater of Dreams, we might see the other half of the new United with the Frenchman in the starting eleven versus a hardened Southampton squad.

Still the way this squad played all afternoon we are seeing a sort of open competition not only for the starting job but to show off to their new Boss what they are capable off. Going back to the match, United played a one of a kind match and showing off their label of all around favorites to net the league shield.

Also with a good dominance of this match  and with a tale of the tape showing a total of 52.2% possession and outshouting along more passing and touches to the ball, United had this game already in its pockets. This not the rival in the Cherries of Eddie Howe were a walk in the park and this squad lacked a fighting stance, as they did not.

It did not come easy for United and still after a nice play; the Red Devils midfielder Juan Matta in the 40th minute opened the score for his squad and going into halftime with a one-goal lead.

The second time the visitor’s strength in its eleven seen in an immediate manner when in the 59th minute a nice pass from Martial bouncing into Rooney who head the ball out of reach of Bournemouth’s keeper Boruc for the 2-0.

Then the Red Devils mischief continued in the field and dominance evidently seen during this second half came a nice shoot outside the area and the ball going into the goal corner and the celebration for the visitor’s became eloquent for Zlatan Ibramovic elevating himself into the air, celebrating his feat.

With the score 3-0 in the 64th the Red Devils were poised to give their man in the posts David De Gea a clean sheet, it’s when the home squad Boss Eddie Howe made a couple of moves that paid off at the end.

As the revival of the home squad was seen in the 69th minute when a combination of Lewis Grabban who just came as a substitute of Callum Wilson started a play with just two minutes into the game and serve a nice service to Adam Smith and beating United keeper De Gea for the lone goal.

Despite the revival of the Cherries and reaction to try a counter attack on the visiitors, one thing we saw in United was his backfield and four men in Bailly, Shaw, Valencia and Blind as the chosen ones that will become Mourinho’s ultimate selection in its defense.

Ask that to Bournemouth’s strikers and the way their sudden reaction in the last minutes to try to net another set of scores, deterred by the Reed Devils defensive core and persevere for the 3-1 win and giving hopes to many Manu followers heads up of an upcoming dream campaign.

Glory, Glory Man United!
