A new era is to start
at Old Trafford, especially in its helm with Jose Mourinho as the new devil
that will start a new era at the top spot of this club as well bring it back to
its old glory days. Still this is not an easy process, as rebuilding a squad
from A to Z will not come cheap as well easy, to bring the crème of la crème to
these parts of Manchester.
With many seeing in
this squad as one competitive entity after winning the Community Shield and
performing wonders in its preseason, so far the hand of the Portuguese Boss is
very visible alongside of its deliverance of shields.
So far, the Red Devils
looked like in their old days after netting their 21st FA Community
Shield after defeating this weekend the likes of Leicester City at Wembley
Stadium and net its second shield of this 2016.
Very well the first
of possible many shields to see under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.
As Jose Mourinho
known for his pretentious demands in netting top class players and expensive as
well, so far the arrivals of Zlatan Ibramovic- Paris Saint Germaine, Erick
Bailly- Villarreal, Henrik Mkhitaryan- Borussia Dortmund and finally Paul
Pogba- Juventus.
The Mou revolution is
here in the Theater of Dreams, which many await to see its one of a kind
display of football that not been seen, since Sir Alex Ferguson days and finished
after his retirement.
Still the arrival of
the new blood alongside the existing one- will be exemplary as Ibra will be a
good mentor to the likes of Memphis Depay, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and
even Wayne Rooney himself. In the midfield with Henrik and Pogba doing the
honors, accompanied by Morgan Schnederlin, Jesse Lingard, Ander Herrera and
Daley Blind, the competition amongst the Reds in this spot will give it a new
dynamic.
Very well, in the
backfield with Luke Shaw back from a long DL, Marcos Rojo, Erick Bailly, Matteo
Darmian, Timothy Fonsu- Mensah and Chris Smalling looking forward to become one
of Jose’s top choices for the starting role in the backfield.
So far, David De Gea seems
to be the only one with its spot assured and established starter followed by
Argentinian international Sergio Romero, the Red Devils posts are safe with
these two for the remainder of the campaign.
Still we have some possible
moves among players of the likes of Juan Mata, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Phil
Jones, Marouanne Fellaini whom the Red Devils front office, can make its moves
to sell these players, after not being in the plans of their new Boss.
Very well seeing how
many will see Mous starting eleven playing his traditional 4-2-3-1 formation,
with his new crop of superstars. As many foresee a possible lineup with David
De Gea, Chris Smalling, Erick Bailly, Antonio Valencia, Luke Shaw; Paul Pogba,
Morgan Schneiderlin; Henrik Mkhitaryan, Anthony Martial, Wayne Rooney; Zlatan
Ibramovic.
The Theater of Dreams
will once again will live up to its lost glory days, as one thing for sure is
that the mood amongst players and followers of this great entity are very
pumped up and cannot wait for the start of this campaign.
As Manchester United opening
schedule looks a bit easy in paper, the challenge will be there, when they open
up as an away team at Dean Court to play against Eddie Howe AFC Bournemouth,
returning home for opening day at Old Trafford to measure against Southampton
and Hull City away.
Looks easy but not so
fast, as the Red Devils schedule for August looks a bit lose but comes September
the challenge will be there with their first Manchester Derby to play at home, going
to Watford and returning home to play the defending champions Leicester City.
As well, I cannot
contain my anxiety as well many Manchester locals when the epic battles between
Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola renews, with their longtime and now cross-town rivalry
in the Manchester Derbies, earth will tremble in these matches.
One thing for sure
this campaign will put in test the wisdom and abilities of Jose Mourinho in how
he will be taking on his new challenge in Premiership and not being it with his
Chelsea Boys as once he proudly stated.
Another question that
arises is all about the academy prospects, the current youth crop United so far
has in its ranks, and ready to make the big jump, here the question arises for
Mourinho not well known to develop players. This a minus for the Portuguese,
still he has een inviolved ina player or two that came from several of his past
squads academies, but his specialty is to buy players already in their prime.
At the end,
Manchester United will have a much-contested campaign ahead as well seeing the way
its competition seen as good, for Jose
Mourinho his chap have to be much better in order to lift all sorts of
silverware in this upcoming 2016-17of EPL.
Lookout Premiership
as Manchester United is possessed and hungry for titles!
