Forget last campaign
under the struggles and stress of relegation, after a close finish in the overall league table ahead of demoted
Wexford Youths and Longford Town going down to first division.
Still the Finn Harps did
overcome the odds and made a triumphant run to make a return and see the day of
another campaign in top flight of Ireland's Premiership.
The aims of Manager Ollie
Horgan are to make his squad show off a notable and spectacular campaign in
this edition of the SSE League of Ireland.
One of them is to
overcome that fatidic tenth place finish and maybe make a decent run into the
top spots, and especially for their Manager seize that always coveted and reputable
third place that nets that squad a European spot.
One thing for sure
that for the Harps is to get their feet in the ground and be realistic,
especially when the looks of a much contested and disputed campaign Is in the
works for the Donegal Bunch.
It is why the demands
from Manager Ollie Horgan were in the works for a squad front office to hit the
accelerator, purchase players, and maintain its last campaign base to put on a
show and a one of a kind 2017 campaign.
Despite work to do
and correct to perform and implement in this squad game, the prospects of
seeing an improved and impressive campaign and showing off a new type of
football more offensively and overzealous defensive.
That is the recipe
for success for Manager Horgan is looking for and for sure, he will succeed at
the end and possibly deliver many satisfactions to the followers of his Harps
back at the colossus of Ballybofey, Finn Park.
So far, several players
from last campaign squad have given their commitment to the club and with the
new blood that will reinforce the areas of much needed attention, as this
project envisioned by the Harps Boss is one ambitious one.
With the arrival of
new faces to Finn Park, players of the top minds of this squad really worked overtime
and earned their pay when they brought several new faces to reinforce this
squad and give it a boost in its game.
Already signed and
poised to elevate this club game and reputation are former Dundalk striker
Ciaran O’ Connor, Scottish league experienced Caolan Mc Aleer, Tribesmen
Killian Cartwell, Wexford Jonny Bonner to a homecoming.
Completing the list
are Harry Doherty and former Leesider Danny Morrisey that has the Harps Boss
elated and looking forward to a one of a kind campaign where he is ready to
open up hostilities tomorrow.
At the end like this
squad and the other eleven reinforcing their sides and plugging their holes
with new talent, their aims of a perfect if not magnificent campaign to stand
out, still with 30 plus matches and cup competition.
The outlook for these
squads looks a bit challenging and especially for the likes of the Finn Harps will
be one amazing one and filled with plenty to work for in order to succeed.
