The Blues are back in the ranks of the
Republic of Ireland Premier League, making a notable run in first division and
netting their pass to play among the league elite squads.
The challenges that this campaign will
bring to their Boss Martin Russell will be multiple and very well serious if he
does not want to see his Lims go down immediately into the abyss of the first
division.
Something the Blues are looking forward to
put a one of a kind campaign that can uplift this squad above the SSE competition
and very well make a run to the top three spots and seize a European ticket at
the end of this campaign.
Considered for many a total success, of
course if they put on a magnificent and stellar campaign, Limerick can raise
above the rest as one serious contender as well looking forward to put a run to
the league top.
Realistically the Super Blues compromise with
their followers at Markets Field will be to have a decent run at home and avoid
losses by taking advantage of their home field advantage and on the road put on
a successful run too.
So far, this club after a magnificent run
in the first division playoffs and winning with all around style, these are
ready to put on a serious fight and not just come to play but become an
outstanding squad that can raise many eyebrows.
With
some dealings done in the postseason and so far putting on a positive
preseason, the Lims are looking poised and determined to put on a show in the
field and show off a top-notch football that can become tricky for their foes.
As the last campaign roster has seen the
return of many key players, the arrival of Chiedozie Ogbene, John O’ Flynn,
Dean Dillon, Luke Kielly, David O’ Connor, Ian Turner and Brandon Clarke to
reinforce the Blues ranks.
The outlook of a positive and productive
campaign seen at the end and with results in the cup tournaments in play and
the Super Blues deliver some of these trophies to their halls in Markets Field
will undoubtedly be a total success.
Still there is work to be done ahead of
this edition of the Airtrcity League of Ireland and with a competitive field
and squads to beat in the lilywhites, Hoops, Pats, City and Candystripes to
mention a few.
The heat will be on the Blues Boss Martin
Russell to produce some serious results, deliver a notable campaign for the
Lims followers, make a decent run to the league top three spots, and even
deliver the unthinkable, the league shield.
For now, the Boys of Limerick FC so far
have delivered an important feat of playing in the Ireland's top tier league and
now to focus and brave the opposition with no inhibitions and at the end
persevere with an all-around pride.
