After three years out of contention, Liam
Buckley, the Pats Boss is looking forward to a one of a kind campaign filled
with many thrills and a return of his Saints to the league top spots.
Despite the drought of a league shield, the
Super Pats never stop in their quest of netting important trophies to their
halls at Richmond Park back at Inchicore.
Still this squad despite seeing an exodus
of players going to others squads, the arrival of new faces and keeping some of
their valuable players put in these parts of Dublin, the Saints are up a ready
to front and deliver a top-notch campaign.
The aim for the Dubliners is to stop the
Lilywhites in netting another consecutive fourth league shield, alongside of
becoming the top squad in the Erin’s capital whenever the Derbies held and
these looking forward to domination.
As their neighbors in the Capital with the Bohemians
and the Shamrock Rovers, these looking forward to get the upper hand in the
capital Derbies, the Pats are already looking forward to a series of competed clashes
and getting the best of these matches.
Currently the Pats have made some bold
moves in the market and captured some important players to reinforce this sqaud
on the eve of another contested and fought campaign in the SSE League of Ireland.
With the arrival of former Liverpool Red
Alex O’ Hanlon getting the company of Bohemians former Keeper Barry Murphy, Shamrock
Rovers striker Kurtis Byrne and Sligo
Rover defender Gavin Peers.
So far, the Super Pats have delivered a
valuable shield in the EA Sports Cup to close this 2016 and so far they have
made it into quarterfinals of the Leinster Cup and looking good and convincing in
every match played.
As the preseason has exposed many of the Saints
current players and many academy prospects that for Manager Buckley will be
having a hard time deciding who will the ideal man to get the call and play
with the big guns.
With many of the Saints initial eleven
returning and new faces coming to Richmond Park, the main goal for their man at
the helm will be seeing a finish among the top three if not the league top to
dethrone the current back-to-back winners the Dundalk Lilywhites.
This will be the ideal campaign for the
Super Pats to finish in a high note and offer us a one of a kind campaign if
not a banner one at the end, as these will take advantage of any opportunity
given to continue delivering shields at Inchicore.
One thing for sure, the Saint Patrick Athletic
Boys are up and ready to make it into a prominent campaign and win it all as
well assure a spot in the prestigious Europe League and make it into another
squad to live a fairy tale.
For now first things first, it will be to net
a spot among the top three and maybe crown themselves as this edition league
champions.
