An Everton win on a painted Blue Derby

Craig Shakespeare and his Leicester City Bunch were ready to continue their positive streak and playing as visitors at Goodison Park and looking forward to another win in a match labeled as the Blue Derby.

One thing to remember is that the Everton Toffees are one serious foe to defeat at home and with a winning streak equal to the visitors, the forecast for this match, was to be a serious and contested affair.

Both squads Bosses were looking forward to three points of gold and especially a meritorious win.

In this match, once again Leicester Manager Shakespeare sported a 4-4-2 formation with Islam Slimani and Jamie Vardy in the frontal attack to start havoc on the posts defended by Everton’s Joel Robles.

Contrary to his visiting colleague, Everton’s Ronnie Koeman sent a more pressing on the attack formation in his 4-3-3 with Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas in full speed mode to try to make Kasper Scheimeichel afternoon a living hell.

Something that at the end worked marvelously for both men in the helm of their clubs as this affair turned out to be an all-around shootout between these titans and at the end the best one got the coveted and desired win.

Despite the visitor’s firepower and momentum before coming to these parts of Liverpool, the School of Science put on a show and got the best of the Lancashire 11.

Suddenly this squad under the guidance of Ronnie Koeman the Dutch Manager has a tendency of looking to the squads he manages in its academies, with a trio of top guns in Ross Barkley, Mason Holgate and Tom Davies.

These latter one considered a gem-surged from the Toffees academy, he was the responsible of elevating his bonus and making once again all sorts of headlines in his squad notable win.

Not even a minute of play when Kevin Mirallas started his usual melee in the midfield and taking the ball away from a City defender and after falling inside the area in a clear trip, the ball went to the feet of Tom Davies and with a left touch, he scored the quickest goal.

Not even a minute of play when the Toffees started showing their might and despite Mirallas being trip inside the area, the referee continued with the play and the result you already know.

As the game went on and to a venue in a frenzy, that did not lasted when the visitors started a counter attack and with a one two combinations from Demarai Gray passing to Islam Slimany, the game was tied at 1 goal apiece with just four minutes.

A goal fest indeed, this was the result of two squads suddenly playing a one of a kind football and looking to move up in the overall table for a better position, as in the case of the Foxes trying to be as far away from the relegation spots.

In the case of the Everton Boys, their aims are to keep getting closer to the top four spots, that after the win they are in seventh place with 54 points tied with Arsenal and a Monday game pending for the Londoners.

With a contested match the outcome of the game continued with a persistent City squad and netting a second goal in what many thought that this match was going to end with the visitors winning this contest.

However, the locals known to be a bit tough to beat at home and with a long running streak in the plus for the Toffees, the fury of this squad when they play their football they are successful with, the outcome of the match became one exciting one.

The match progressed and its when the league scoring leader came out to score the go ahead goal for his squad, putting the score even in the 23 minute and on the 41 came a brilliant Phil Jagielka to give Koeman squad the lead before halftime.

For the Dutch Boss seeing his initial eleven working wonders, next campaign we are to see the possibility of seeing a more resilient and more consistent School of Science returning to its old days and game, its why they got this moniker.

A club with a roster of seven young players that can make the break into the first squad and its initial eleven, the Toffees future looks very bright and promising, for a squad known to be the almost squad.

As players of the likes of starters Tom Davis with eighteen years old, Mason Holgate twenty years old, that already broke into the initial lineup and so far complements raining on both and especially Davis.

Still this match put in evidence when this club decides to play ball they are an unstoppable entity and in the second half with a lead of a goal over the streaking City squad, it is when Kevin Mirallas pass to Romelu Lukaku hits its target for the go-ahead score.

At the end todays match in this parts of Merseyside saw a display of two squad’s arsenals and one showing off its youth in today’s winners the Everton squad that next campaign with a little luck or better display more hunger in the field.

We are about to see a tough squad to beat and maybe they can make a run to the league top and produce another fairy tale in the ranks of the English Premier League.

One thing for sure, this match would be a strong candidate for the award of the week if not the month.
