Blanco and Adi’s goals not enough to seal the deal at the Big D

A campaign that the Portland Timbers are playing an amazing game of football and with today’s match ending in a tie and a near win over a hardened and tough to beat at home Dallas FC squad.

After Mother Nature’s fury delaying the match, suddenly the ball started rolling in favor towards the visiting squad.

Showing off an all-around dominance in the first half of this match with a display of pure and dynamic football.

This campaign puts in evidence the hunger and determination that the Rose City squad is showing off.

With a road game and scheduled as problematic for the Rose City squad to play at Toyota Stadium were its Dallas FC Boys are one tough client to compete and play on a one to one basis and difficult to get a positive result.

Today’s match showed off a different PTFC, playing their game they are comfortable and with its initial eleven missing goalie Jack Gleeson and their Talisman play-maker Diego Valeri to injuries.

The initial eleven sent by Portland Boss Caleb Porter with Dairon Aspirilla in the frontal attack and Jeff Attinella defending the posts, these two once again showed off their mettle and resolve.

Despite netting one point, the result considered a positive for Manager Porter and his bunch.

So near and yet as far as twenty minutes to seal the deal and net another positive result in the road as well end the Hoops perfect record in MLS as the only undefeated team,  that at the end the Burn persevere.

Still this match had all the elements for the visiting Pacific Northwest squad to take the win, after an early goal in the 30 minute by Faneando Adi back in the lineup after serving a match for suspension, he was the one to open up the hostilities.

As the Portland squad going to halftime with the lead, the second half saw a different Dallas squad playing, as they are accustomed too, showing off a one of a kind and tough football they are familiar.

By proving their mettle and support by their home crowd, these hardened Texans never gave up on their quest to deny the visitors what could been a valuable win on the road, it is when former Timber Maxi Urrutti played his magic.

With a nice shoot that Timbers keeper Attinella could not even get at, the Dallas Boys were back in the game and in the 61 minute to send a whole venue into frenzy.

No later than ten minutes passed when the Portland Timbers went on the attack with several of its arsenal making the effort in the Dallas area when an opportune Sebastian Blanco put the Rose City squad ahead with a nice cut in the 71 minute.

That did not put a damp on the Dallas squad and letting their guard down as this match saw a back to back fight between these two titans looking forward to get the best of each other, with just nine minutes past.

The Dallas squad took advantage of a defensive lapse from the Timbers backfield when Hernan Grana found Tesho Akindele unmarked inside the area to push the ball and even the match at two goals apiece and taking advantage of an Alvas Powell slip.

The Timbers had its moments in defense and despite its slip-ups, these overcome the pressure and at times aggressive Dallas game to deny the locals a chance to get ahead in the scoreboard and win the match.

Today’s results leaves Portland with a record of 5 wins and two losses and draws in the campaign and with seventeen points two ahead of Dallas FC and SKC in the Western Conference.

As next week match on the road at San Jose Avaya Stadium, looking for a win and return home with a positive.

However, the tie has an essence of a win for the Portland squad as Caleb Porter stated of his squad well played match at the end.
