These Portland Timbers are playing a one of a kind football

A new campaign and with renewed hopes of being an all-around contender is what the Portland Timbers Boss Caleb Porter is targeting in this 2017.

As the high flying Timbers coming to play at always difficult Talen Energy field in Chester, Pennsylvania, being today's match a second test for the Rose City Boys looking for a valuable win on the road.

Still by the way, this squad is playing with a new energy and showing off a new dynamic in its game.

In addition, of coming to one of its tough venues to play, all eyes became focus on the Rose City squad starting eleven, that despite of suffering some notable absences in the DL.

These are playing a one of a kind football and this campaign is showing a first of putting a notable start and being in first place in both the Western Conference and the Supporters Shield race.

Coming to the City of Brotherly Love, the local Union has been a tough foe to play by the PTFC and the odds of netting a win looked tough but not impossible- for a club in the case of the Philly Boys so far winless in this campaign.

That was not a reason to hail an easy win as the saying states that there is no such thing than an easy foe and for the locals this could been their game and playing with the label of underdogs and conclude as the spoilers.

Ask that to an opportune Union defender taking advantage of Timbers defenders Roy Miller and Lawrence Olum sudden oversight or defensive mild mislead, putting the score in favor of the locals.

With a corner kick from the locals- Haris Menundjanin hitting his target accurately, in defender Richie Marquez leap beating both of his defenders.

That shortly put the score in favor of the Philadelphia squad to the joy of a venue looking forward to see their Boys come out of the bad streak and start with win over their Pacific Northwest foes.

That became the first goal of the match with 26 minutes just in the match; still the heroes approach by Union Marquez became later the goat, after being in the center stage of the Timbers successful drive.

The early score did not put a damper on the PTFC- but ignited as a powerful rocket propelled engine.

As the Portland Boys did not stopped cold in their tracks and started generating plays that lead them to their first score, not even six minutes passed when an unstoppable Darlington Nagbe put the score even.

After beating both Marquez and keeper Andre Blake who could reach the ball after that powerful shoot and putting the score even for both squads at one goal apiece in the 32 minute.

After halftime ending in a tie, the second half saw a better and more organized PTFC fighting with such a hunger like the one shown in this campaign, this squad is becoming to be a sort of comeback kids.

In addition, in the second half, it is when hell turned loose for the Portland Timbers squad.

With a more set scheme and game, the visitors became more set in attacking and in a free kick that the Timbers Talisman Diego Valeri set perfectly to the head of Roy Miller for his first goal in 130 games, this became the go-ahead goal.

The visiting squad with a 2-1 in favor, it is when the Cheesmaster Caleb Porter started his magic and making his moves in the 72nd minute when he brought Darren Mattocks for Sebastian Blanco.

Bold was the way that Porter managed this game, by making all sort of moves and showing an all-around confidence in his bench that did to let him down, with Amobi Okugo coming for Diego Valeri in the 82 and Jack Barmby for Faneando Adi in the 91.

The Portland squad still managed to add another goal in the 88 minute via a penal on a nice play when Darren Mattocks took the ball from the Union defender and were fouled that lead to a penal in a play that become the go-ahead goal at the end.

However, kudos to the great Adi, after his goal via penal, he continued to make history for the Rose City squad as its all-time goal scorer in the history for this franchise.

At the end, this campaign is shaping into a one of a kind one and with this kind of playing these can reach new heights, disregard last campaign the present and future is what Caleb Porter is focus on and looking forward to deliver.
