The fate of the Red
Devils in this Europa League lays on their return home to play in the second
leg in the Theater of Dreams, at Old Trafford, opening the prospects of sealing
the deal.
Still this squad that
has shown up a lot of positives, but with some areas of work to be performed by
its Portuguese Boss, that so far this squad has lacked that finishing touch in
several of their matches.
As todays match
considered an important and vital one in its first leg in Brussels colossus
Constant Varden Stock Stadium, home of the Purple and White squad of RSC
Anderlecht.
By playing, a foe not
considered a strong one, still not weak.
Despite the competition,
the United foes managed to get in these stages, and this accomplishment by far speaks
of this group resilience.
With a RSC Anderlecht
being the host for the opening rounds of the quarterfinals this prestigious and
well-contested Europa League, the United Boys just managed to get a tie, despite
scoring an early goal.
Very well this draw
is a sort of advantage for the Red Devils, still the Manchester Boys need to be
more aggressive and determined to win their matches and showing off a little
bit of hunger in tier football.
The development of
this match and with a dominance of the visiting Lancashire Boys, many thought
that the local Purple and Whites were to fell prey to the push of the English
initial eleven- at the end that did not happen.
As the locals, snowed
of a resolve in the entirety of this match, never stopped insisting in the
posts defended by Sergio Romero, and in the 83rd minute the Belgian
side via Leander Dedoncker tie the match for the final score.
Shadowing the early
play by United Midfielder Henrik Mkhitaryan in the 36th minute,
putting his squad in frenzy and despite his second chance to score the insurance
goal as well Paul Pogba that could been the go-ahead goals.
The Red Devils could
not deliver that final blow and had to settle to another draw to the ire and frustration
of their Boss Jose Mourinho that in a week time these will have another shoot
but now as locals to wrap this up.
One thing for sure
the United Boys have to continue in their quest of all around favorites in these
quarterfinals rounds of the Europa League, were Mou will love to assure a
Champions spot for next campaign as well elevating the coveted UEFA Cup.
Still by playing in and
battling a tough and not so easy Belgian side in RSC Anderlecht, the outlook
does not look like an easy enterprise but not difficult in these stages for the
Portuguese and his Manchester Boys.
So far, the first
year Boss has delivered a Community Shield by defeating Leicester City and an
EFL Cup after defeating Southampton, an UEFA Cup can seal the deal for a treble
of a campaign and with the forecast ahead of many more to come.
With the firepower
that United presented itself in its initial eleven, with Ibra, Lingard and Rashford
that, the three strikers together little they could do to penetrate a tough and
persistent Anderlecht defensive wall.
At the end, United needs to be more determined
and creative in its frontal attack to decipher opposing defenses as well become
a scoring machine and with squad drawing them, these need to become more plum
locos to finish what they started.
