Can someone stop that perfection-ridden Cork City?

It certainly looks like John Caulfield Cork City Boss and company are playing a one of a kind football, showing off a perfect 10-0 record.

With a league match played today at the colossus of Inchicore, Dublin, Richmond Park, home of Saint Patrick Athletic to play the league leaders and a red hot Rebel Army.

That so far these have won all of their matches in tis nascent campaign and going into its third month of play, the City chaps are looking unbeatable in the eyes of many of its foes in the League of Ireland.

As squads of the likes of Shamrock Rovers, Dundalk, Limerick, Derry City, Bohs and now their hosts in Inchicore the Pats, with today’s win.

The City Boys are spreading their overall lead of nine points over its closest chasers Bray Wanderers and the league defending champions Dundalk FC.

After this win, the Rebel Army catches all the headliners in the Emerald Island tabloids, mentioning of this squad perfect start and looking like a tough foe to beat in this edition of the SSE.

Despite of their perfect campaign, the way this match developed as one tough one for the league leaders as the local Pats played with an all-around inspiration and seeing their chances dwindle in the second chance.

Other the way the Super Pats defensive backfield was playing with a stingy attitude towards the City strikers in Karl Sheppard, Stephen Dooley and Sean McGuire seeing their efforts failed towards the posts of Connor O’Malley.

Still the visitors managed to get some shoots across and their persistence in every minute of this match passed by the league leaders were shaping off their game for the best and looking for more options to open up the score.

The Pats opened up the score by one of its own players in Josh O’Hanlon own goal in the 62 minute, that gave the visiting City squad the lead.

For City and league top scorer Sean Maguire, by drawing all type of attention from the Saints defenders all evening long, his play became the key for the second score in the game to Karl Sheppard.

With a shoot that beat the Pats goalie O’ Malley in the 86 minute the go-ahead goal after going blank and missing in several attempts, his efforts were rewarded and putting the score of 2-0.

After the ninety minute arrived, the official added four minutes in the clock to extend the match and in injury time came the third, definitive, and go-ahead goal by Garry Buckley to seal the deal.

A notable win but a fought off one for Cork City that did had its difficulties with their hosts in the first half that the Saints initial eleven went on the attack and trying in vain to pressure the visitors and derail their game in its entirety.

At the end, the Boys of Cork City and John Caulfield prevailed and netted a one of a kind win that enables them to maintain their perfect run and solidifying their positon in the top of the Aitricity League.

Being their next compromise at home in Turner’s Cross Field to receive another hot streaked Bray Wanderers to see if these can stop City winning streak at home.

One thing for sure that City Boss Caulfield is aware of every match levels of difficulty coming to them and the way many of its foes will be playing them to disrupt their winning momentum.

Still this squad in every match played their game improves for the best, Bravo for the Boys of the Cumann Peile Chathair ChorcaĆ!
