Derry City turns to deliver with style and a goal rout

As the Candystripes returned to Brandywell with a brandishing show of force and showing off their arsenals with a 5-0 rout over a feeble Limerick FC. For Kenny Shiels todays match was a way to return the favor this had on the weekend at Tallaght.

After their loss in Dublin to a 6-1 score today it was Derry City to turn things around and show off its weapons with a five goals soring frenzy over Limerick FC. 

With a treble of an afternoon by Ronan Hale scoring the squad goals in the 8, 70 and 73 minutes as well accompanied by scores by Aaron McEneff 64 and Ronan Curtis in the 61 minute.

This time the Candystripes defense delivered a one of a kind performance to award their goalkeeper and Captain Gerard Doherty that despite sometimes seeing his posts expose, his backfield at the end delivered with style.

In addition, the frontal attack seeing their potential in these early stages of the campaign, many of the squads in Airtricity had better be aware of this Northern squad potential.

Still the highlight of this match to a match were the majority in attendance were on their feet seeing how their beloved Candystripes were delivering a one of a kind match and seeing how their youth sensation on loan Ronan Hale.

As the Birmingham prodigy with today’s performance, including a hat trick, for sure he will become one of these squad assets to be in the fight among the top three squads and European positions. 

Everyone at Brandywell witness an amazing afternoon with an offensive display in a grand game that Derry City initial eleven displayed a wondrous team effort.

After the first score of the game with a nice play when teenager Ronan Hale finish to start the fireworks, in the ninth minute as the first half ended the locals even up the score and Limerick looking like they were to come up and seek the win.

With the second half underway the locals via Ronan Curtis in the 61 delivered the second and what could been the go ahead goal to the whole of Brandywell going into a frenzy and no later came the third goal via Aaron McEneff sending the score to 3-0.

However, the star of the match became active inside the visitors area in the 70 and later in the 73 to seal the deal and get a great win at home. As they state there is no place like home!
