Patrick Vieira is a man with a mission with his NYCFC, after seeing how his Eastern Conference foes arming themselves towards this 2018 campaign. The Blue Bombers are back and ready to rock the living foundations of Major League Soccer.
With the dominance of the Reds in the past two campaigns and winning the East in stunning fashion, this time for manager Vieira his aims are to make his American version of the Sky Blues a serious contender.
After seeing how the New Yorkers saw how its conference foes ready to stage in what seems to be another contested campaign, but in this edition especially the way many of these have reinforced to the teeth.
With many of the league 23 squads using the league extra Targeted Allocation Money, the way their rosters have got an extra boost, as many new players coming from European and South American squads.
For sure, this campaign the game in MLS will see a boost in its competition as well elevating it into a more contested affair in the whole campaign.
In the case of the NYCFC its full speed ahead and with a philosophy of its competitors of being good but they has to be far better than all of them regardless of the conference, the idea is to deliver shields to its halls in the colossus of the Bronx.
In the transfers market the Pigeons did a god job in netting players that can uplift the game desired by its manager and compliment it with the existing base, to uplift this squad campaign with an spectacular one in the end.
On the offseason the New York squad and Sporting Kansas City did a two-way trade sending forward Khiry Shelton to the Midwest side for defender Saad Abdul Salaam to reinforce the backfield with his experience.
Following Abdul- Salaam and considered as one of the most vulnerable areas to reinforce in tis defense the club bought defender Cedric Hountondji- French side Gazelec Ajaccio, Goalkeeper Brad Stuver Wilmington Hammerheads, Anton Tinnerholm-Malmo FF and recently Sebastien Ibeagha from San Antonio.
Other areas of interest were the frontal attack to compliment it with David Villa and the arrivals of forward Jo Inge Berget from Malmo FF and Libyan Ismael Tajouri from Rheindorf Altach. Anoahter important position reinforced was its midfield. With newcomers Paraguayan Jesus Medina- Libertad and Ebenezer Ofori from VFB Stuttgart and from Manchester City on loan Yangel Herrera.
Without missing any detail, manager Vieira and the NYCFC directives hard at work, in getting the ideal players and covering every position in need, that’s why the club brought the ideal players, looking forward to go all the way into the league finals.
As the competition in the East with a heavily favorites in the Toronto FC and Atlanta United armed with the top rated players and their cross the Hudson foes the Red Bulls and Montreal Impact to name a few.
The NYCFC better make a serious stand against its conference foes if they are looking forward to win not only the conference but also the league and some important shields in the end.
