A disputed top between Dundalk and City in the recap of the league of Ireland

The race to the league top continues as a tug of war between the Dundalk FC and Cork City with neither squad surrendering anything in all of their matches and inch. Despite the Rebel Army winning ways, still these trail the league leaders Lilywhites with a two-point edge over the defending champions.

For Stephen Kenny and company seeing how his Boys scoring frenzy lately over their foes with Robbie Benson, Pat Hoban and Danne Massey to mention a few having a one of a kind campaign as Hoban leading the race for the league golden boot.

The first match we are about to talk about is tween league cellar stricken Bray Wanderers playing against a revived Pats, that are looking to return to their old winning ways at Carlisle Grounds.

Easy was not this match and at the end the local Seagulls taking advantage of their condition of locals, delivered with goals from Cory Galvin 54’, Darragh Gibbons 68’ and Gerald Penner 90’ for the locas and for the Saints Thomas Byrne 86’.

Bray Wanderers 3, Saint Patrick’s Athletic 1

In Market’s Field the locals Limerick Boys tied at one goal apiece over the visiting Bohemians, with the locals scoring Barry Maguire 34 and the visiting Gypsies Dan Casey 85, spoiling the win for the struggling Super Blues.

Limerick 1, Bohemians 1

Suddenly the winning ways of the Derry City squad have been from less to worse, with a rare loss at home against a struggling Sligo Rovers, the Candystripes suddenly are battling against a sudden slump and with no answers.

For the visiting Bit O’ Red scoring a goal in each half with David Cawley 11 and Lewis Morrison 48 to seal the deal and win over a hardened Derry City.

Derry City 0, Sligo Rovers 2

So far in the campaign the Rebel Army whenever these are playing at home are one amazing squad playing a wondrous game of football and looking forward to see any stumble from league leaders Dundalk FC.

Still playing at Turner’s Cross against a another top rated squad Waterford, today the Leesiders win keeps them in the hunt for the league top, with scores from  Garry Buckley 45’, Graham Cummins 76’ and Kieran Sandler 79’.

In Tallaght Stephens Bradley, the Shamrock Rovers manager is starting to feel the pressure from his squad struggles and in every match despite his squd playing at home; still the results are not there.

With the league leaders Dundalk FC coming to Dublin Town, the visiting Lilyhwites scoring frenzy was enough evidence that this squad is for real and looking forward to win the league shield.

For the visiting The Town scoring was Patrick Hoban 37’, Daniel Cleary 60’, Dane Massey 64” and Robbie Benson double 72’ and 77’. For the Hoops scorers were Daniel Carr 4’ and Roberto Lopes 71’.
