The Hoops offensive awakens with a goal fest

Shamrock Rovers 5, Bray Wanderers 0
Tallaght Stadium, Dublin

These Shamrock Rovers finally deliver with an important win at home to a low flying Bray Wanderers. With their newly international, star Graham Burke scoring twice followed by three of his teammates in their scoring frenzy.

Early in the game with the game just four minutes in action and the vsitors losing a by a goal, the visitors Conor Kenna being called for a handball inside the area, the referee showed him the red card.

Leaving the defensive backfield for the Gulls vulnerable to the attacks of determined and inspired Hoops that took advantage of their superior advantage to outplay the visitors for the win.

As the locals in the end and the tale of the tape showing off a whopping 23 shoots at goal and 5 scored over a decimated and relegation prone Bray Wanderers squad, everything looked like it was going the Rovers way.

The game going in the beginning saw the local Hoops already taking advantage of the visitor’s defensive gaps and via their prime striker graham Burke these delivered their first score of the game in the minute four after a foul called inside the area. As the Republic of Ireland international is still red hot after scoring his first goal with the national team.

Still the first goal scored by Burke, the chap continued looking for ways to continue his scoring ways with a couple of close shoots in the 13 and 14  minutes and early in the second minute, as his shoots would hit gold, he would been in second in the golden boot race.

As the insistence of the locals initial eleven looking forward to score, luck was not this time in their side and going into halftime with a one goal lead, the second promised to be filled with a more offensive display by the locals.

In the 53 minute Sam Bone finally broke the scoring drought for the Hoops with a nice shoot after a coroner kick were the ball landed in Greg Bolger feet, passing to a wide-open Bone and score the go-ahead goal.

For Stephen Bradley seeing his side dominance in the course of the game and going blank in his player’s attempts of goal in the 75 minute Graham Burke scores his second of the evening to near seal their win with a 3-0 score.

In the 83 minute, Daniel Carr later followed by David McAllister in the 86 minute complemented the goal fest in the Rover win and coming out of their losing misery and now getting their confidence back after seeing their struggles.

This raises the possibilities of the Hoops of moving on in the top four spots in the league overall table if they can manage to catapult to third place with a display of top of the line football now that their top gun striker Graham Burke is back.
