Give the Scotsman an
A for effort and optimism but the sad reality lies in his initial eleven, luck
or strategies’ not lining up despite the way his Boys all around efforts not delivering
all afternoon long in Vicarage Road.
With his first match
after taking over for Bilic, David Moyes was one positive chap the day he was
presented as the man to take over the destinies of the Academy of Football and
try his best for a positive turnaround.
The return of action
in Premiership after seeing a lengthy series of international breaks, finally
the best league of the world was back into action and the Hammers and Hornets made
the headlines for Sunday’s match.
So far, the Irons
state of disarray is causing a revolt among its followers losing their patience
every time they see their squad perform with such mediocre results and not
seeing any promise of relief.
Coming to Vicarage
Road and face off a resurgent Yellow Army under the direction of Marco Silva,
as the Portuguese being in the center of the storm last campaign, after not
being able to revive the Hull City Tigers going to Championship relegation.
Now Silva is once
again the target of squads of the likes of Everton looking to acquire his
services but a flat no from the Orns directives are keeping this chap still and
not going anywhere until he can prove his mettle as a manager.
The way the Hornets
boss is delivering in what many state as a spectacular campaign and today is
win at home over a decimated West Ham United not finding its path, put his squad
in eight spot with fifteen points.
The Orns record of five
wins among one of them against Arsenal but three draws and four losses from a
rout from Man City of 5-0, the Citizens exposed Silva defensive backfield
weakness, but not letting the spirits of this squad down.
Still this afternoon
the colossus of Hertfordshire showed off with a total sold out and a large contingent
of Londoners looking forward to see a miracle from their Hammers but at the end
these started a series of chants against their top brass.
With their frustrations
growing in every minute of the match and seeing the efforts of their Irons
going in vain despite the intentions of scoring against the posts defended successfully
by Heurelho Gomes.
Inciting to bitter
songs from the Hammers faithful with Sack the Board, You, Destroyed our club, You’re
not fit to wear the shirt.
And despite the expensive
flow of monies spent in the summer by the London Boys to try to conform a
contender, now its fan base is turning against and very skeptic.
After all the locals
were on target and opportune after scoring a couple of goals by Will Hughes
taking advantage of a rebound to push the ball and for the first goal of the
match in the 11 minute and later in the second Richarlison in the 64.
At the end for David
Moyes seeing this abrupt welcome and reception into Premiership and once again
seeing his luck running out.
His anticipations of turning
his club woes into a positive will depend mostly on his players sense of
urgency and focus alone of when will they start making a serious stand.
These two goals sentenced
the match and despite the array of opportunities of making it a rout, the visitor’s
backfield started making some progress in holding the Hornets attack at bay,
but at the end, the game belonged to Watford.
