Hail for an amazing tenure in Rose City

The day came when many Portland Timbers followers were not looking forward too and came leaving a whole fan base known for its uniqueness and spirited display of support for its Mighty PTFC in a state of shock.

As Caleb Porter, call it quits as the Portland Timbers manager suddenly leaving a big hole, difficult to fill for who is to become his successor as he has many challenges ahead of seeing a continuance of Porter successful legacy.

After his arrival from collegiate soccer with the University of Akron, delivering many feats and development of top of the line players that later made a reunion with him in the professional levels.

By accepting the job in 2013 and making a spectacular debut with a first place finish atop the Western Conference and two points shy of a Supporters Shield, the impact caused by Porter in his first stint was marvelous.

His transitions from College to professional ball made him a natural in the helm.

Very well amazing in the eyes of those diehards fans that after enduring a couple of hard campaigns seeing their beloved PTFC finishing with  no participation in the playoffs, this man in his first year brought a new meaning of soccer to Rose City.

Leaving an all-around contender, after his amazing feats during his five years in Providence Park by producing a competitor and a winning legacy that produce an unthinkable moment in MLS circles when he delivered the Championship shield to Rose City.

Very well instituting a creative and spontaneous football that did carry its foes away and making his signature moves in the lineup when he did not have his stellar players, the man improvisations and gambles paid off at the end.

Something that I called him in my posts with the moniker of the Cheesmaster, for his unique and top of the line moves in his lineup, earning him many praises from many in MLS circles, and drawing attention as one of the many candidates to take over the USMNT job.

He leaves Portland with an amazing record and a winning legacy among one of them the 2015 MLS Cup, one Cascadia Cup and two first places finishes atop the Western Conference 2013 and 2017 and 2 CONCACHAMPIONS appearances in 2014-15 and 2015-16.

Unfortunately that’s football, with man of the likes of Mourinho, Guardiola and others moving  on to other clubs as their tenures came to an end, the same happened to Porter and with new endeavors to court in the future, the man won’t have a shortage of offers.

With an all-around class, Caleb said his heartfelt goodbyes and thankfulness to Merritt Paulson and his family for their unmeasurable support along of Gavin Wilkinson that supported his projects and request of players that he made competitors despite this club limited budgets.

At the end Caleb Porter legacy will be always in a Portland Timbers, fond memories of making this club a stellar and one not be mess with as well the first in Cascadia to win the MLS Shield, for Caleb it was time for him to move on.

Thank you Cheesmaster for those amazing and one of kind years of delivering us pure top of the line football that made the whole of Providence vibrate with your initial eleven performances, you will be missed and the best of luck!
