A resounding 3-1 win
over La Liga and past Champions League winners, Real Madrid put in evidence the
work that the Argentinian has brought to these parts of London Town, showing
off an all-around progress.
After last week loss against
MANU by the minimum difference, did not made a dent on the momentum the Spurs
coming to this international match facing off a giant of European competitions.
As the Lilywhites did
perform and deliver against a 4-3-3 formation that Zinedine Zidane in his efforts
of getting a shutoff if not a win at whatever cost with Karin Benzema, Isco and
Cristiano Ronaldo heading the Madrid attack.
Still the first one to
get kudos for an amazing and one of a kind performance was the defensive backfield
that worked wonders and earned its pay in the Tottenham backfield steeping up and
delivering a gem of a match.
The unfortunate play
that lost Hugo Lloris clean sheet came in the 80 minute when a deflection
hitting Sours defender Eric Dier for Ronaldo to push and get the honor goal,
after the Madrid squad persistence finally paid off with the lone score.
Still the backfield
sent by Poche with a 3-3-2-1 formation sending a backfield with Jan Vertonghen,
Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweild these accompanied by Kieran Trippier,
Christian Eriksen and Eric Dier.
At the end this group
raise to the occasion after the visitors did put on the pressure in both half’s
looking forward to put a dent on the Spurs game and confidence and at the end
youth ruled in the case of this young Spurs squad playing so maturely.
A Madrid Ronnie put on a show looking to get
his squad in the scoreboard; also, the visitor’s defensive backfield saw the
likes of Wonder Boy Kane looking too to start something for the locals in a
sold out Wembley Arena.
This time the
attention netter became the another gem in Poches initial eleven in Dele Alli
awakening more interest from today’s foes directives in the potential he and
Kane have to deliver if these once again are observed seriously by the Bernabeu
big wigs.
However, the man of
the match and hour was Delle Alli with a double that embarrass the likes of the
Merengues initial eleven and catapulting with this win the Spurs atop Group H.
As Alli in the 27
minute made his mark with a nice combination from Kieran Trippier for the first
score of the match and send the Spurs tot eh delirium of Wembley with a 1-0
lead into halftime and looking forward to an attacking Madrid coming strong in the
second half.
Madrid started their attack
and vile intention of making Hugo Lloris the Spurs keeper life a bit miserable
and with near plays of goal among one that Ronnie got all confused after that
easy of a play that became a sort of frustration for the Portuguese.
The second score of the
afternoon came via a ricochet ball after the shoot of Alli once again making
his presence in the area and the hitting Sergio Ramos for the 2-0 and once again,
a raucous colossus saw the joy of the Spurs faithful going utterly mad.
Once again, the Spurs
dominance and mastery over the Champions of Europe was notable in the 65 minute
with a nice shoot by Christian Eriksen that put the Londoners three nil.
Despite the lone
Madrid score the staple of Tottenham’s success so far has relied in England’s
new glories in Delle Alli, Harry Kane, Kieran Trippier, Harry Winks and Eric
Dier and today these did not hesitated to deliver a wondrous performance for an
all-around win.
This win is putting
not only Harry Kane and Dele Alli among the cream of the crop but uplifting
this squad reputation in the European circuit of a possible armada not be messing
with and maybe deliver a surprising performance in the next round of 16.
